Doesn't it show where we are as a team though.

Shows where we are as a fucking society if you ask me.

He wants to have some sort of argument with Edwards on Twatter!!!! Try seeing him a BDTBL face to face if he's upset you OR, and I know this is a tricky one, try playing consistantly well and see what people say about you.

Too worried about talking and not enough about performing. Fuck Twatter try playing football.

I think Murphy will come good. His assist vs Brentford, turning the full back a couple of times before crossing perfectly for Kitson, shows what he can do. When he's been on the left he's sometimes got to the byline, but been unable to cross with precision/enough power because his left foot isn't very strong. Maybe we should switch him to the right more often?

The lad is a striker, he scored 11 goals for Motherwell in the first half of this season playing up top.

We sign him and somewhere along the line he's been rebranded as a bang average winger.

Play him up front with either Kitson or Porter and see how he gets on.

All strikers get re branded as wingers at t'Lane these days don't they. Except for Kitson who seems to have developed as a deep defending midfielder...

Agree with brownie on Murphy.

Think there is a lot of rubbish spoke about players and best positions. Too many use this an excuse. If he was so good he would be able to adapt. At the end of the day beating men, getting shots in, crosses, linking with players would be similiar whether wide or up top. He had a few games up top and I felt he was no better there. Maybe he might improve slightly but cant see all of a sudden him gaining qualities he does not simply have as he is moved 10-15 yards inside and more central?

He came with a big reputation from the SPL (admittedly crap league) but he has been a major disappointment. Also some have said its hard for him in a dysfunctional team but surely if he was that stand out; he would do exactly that e 'stand out'.Too many players in our side seem to be blaming everyone but themselves (McDonald cant play as others are poor, Kitson has noone to link with, Forte has no balls played to hi, the fans are on the backs etc, etc - I am sick of their excuses). They all as individuals and a team need to man up.

He has looked very ordinary at best. He is not that fast, not particularly skilful, his control is quite poor and he is even weaker than Flynn. More than all that he has not looked like he wants to fight and dig in when we have struggled and has disapeared in many games and often I have forgot he is playing in the second half of games until inevitably he is taken off.

Seen nothing to suggest he wont ever be more than a lower league player in England (which he is!). An injection of increased effort might help but his overall football talents have mostly been a real disappoinment. I think even Flynn might offer more than him and as others know I aint his biggest fan.

Sorry Deadbeat, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I couldn't disagree more!

I think what Bergen says above is much closer to reality. Murphy does cause problems to the opposition, he does get crosses in when playing out wide, he is pretty quick and skilful and I'm sure he will become a very useful member of the team.

I'm not sure about too many of our team blaming everyone but themselves. It's the fans (not the players) who are saying "McDonald cant play as others are poor, Kitson has no one to link with, Forte has no balls played to him".

People knock Edwards but firstly he used to put tue ball in the net and secondly he played at the same time as Colin Morris one of our best ever wingers in my experience. What did ue used to do? Beat the man and put it on a plate for Edwards.

I'll take his opinion over some arse who pens his thoughts on Twatter.

Someone who listened to the radio said that Edwards hadn't even been harsh, but no specifics on what he did actually say.

Murphy deleted the tweet as he received some grief from people saying that Edwards knows what he's on about.

The most interesting thing Edwards said was to publicise a forthcoming beer festival at a South Sheffield golf club. He said he would be behind the bar. He then paid tribute to another member of the staff for her dedication to the Mighty Blades.

Anyone know who he was on about?
:)

I agree it is that some fans are coming up with such exuses but in most cases they dont wash with me. I think most are now realising the majority are dross and that is why we cant get out a god damn awful division. It is not about player x being in the wrong position or not in the right shape/system. We dont have a shape/system and formations/syles (lack of it) have not helped but simply getting outworked and having a greater will to win is inexcusable against players on a tiny amount compared to our set of over paid disappointments.

However you do look at body language at reactions of players to many incidents in games and you can tell that there is a lot of'its not my fault attitude' (the incident at Walsall with Robson and Forte springs to mind but there are others)

I have seen nothing in Murphy to suggest he will be anything more than very ordinary. He is not a game changer and I reallly dont think he is very fast. I have watched his first touch / control and often it has been really poor. Maybe with better players he would do better but he has not done enough in most games I have seen and has been fairly ineffectual since he has joined. He made 2 goals with a cross v Brentford/Shrewsbury and scored 2 decent goals v Bournemouth and Bury. Outside of these he has not really shown much and these incidents were some time ago (outside of brentford). As we reached the crunch time he like many others have been missing in action most games.
