We have now equalled the record for most clean sheets in a season (20 in 81-82 and 83-84) and must be odds on to beat it.

We didn't beat the record for most consecutive home games without scoring, thank the Lord.

We are still on to equal (if we win one of our two away games) or beat (if we win both) the club record for most away wins in a season - 12 in 81-82

It won't mean much if we get the records but miss out on promotion.

If we finish the season playing like we did today, then I will look forward to next season, whatever division we are in. But promotion would be nice.....:)

great result today, 2 goals in one home game, its been too long!

real credit to the defence and george long, surely mark howards days are numbered (unless we sell george).

giving whitehouse time over robson was a big shout aswell. great start morgs!

If we can play like today, rest of the season, we will beat the record. Didn't know about this record so thanks for finding this out!

I actually thought it had been Robson that was brought on, as I was distracted when Sinclair read out the name. Within minutes I saw a lot of running around, effort, and sensible passing from the player, which instantly gave away the fact that Robson was still warming the bench.

And then McCabe will be off the hook again. Great result today, I hope we can still do it and I wish all the best to Morgs. A throwback as a player and he's my kind of bloke. No bullshit, no finesse just nails hit squarely on heads.

Clever bloke McCabe, knows nowt about football but he's like Marvo the Magician the way he keeps pulling rabbits out of hats to get the fans off his back.

Not with me he won't. But I'm not prepared to ruin my Saturday's thinking about McCabe. Boring football is boring football. Exciting football is exciting football. I'll say it how it is, and enjoy it for what it is.

The fact remains, if McCabe continues in the same way, we'll go nowhere and the football will not remain exciting.

didnt see anyone on his back last night before a ball had been kicked so maybe its not because hes clever maybe its because no one dare say anything to him

And there is no way I'm letting anything ruin my Saturady either mate. Blades win, Pigs lose, Thatcher's still dead, it doesn't get any better than that :D

Were you there last night? Or was it that you didn't "see" anything because you're same as the folks you criticise, a Message Board expert?

If we win our last two away games and dont lose on Tuesday I think we are guaranteed to still be in with a shot of automatic on the last day, albeit not in our own hands...

Aye but will we get auto prom?

Aye but will we get auto prom?

No, there is no chance of us getting auto promotion now unless B'mouth slip up and they don't seem keen to do so atm. Regrettably, that means the end of our season for this year as we can't do playoffs.
We gave away our chance of auto promotion when we failed to strengthen the squad in January. A striker and a winger would have seen us romp over the finish line in auto place in this poor quality 1st Division. Regrettably, we signed Forte !!! He will never be a striker whilst he has a hole in his a**e.
But at least we may finish the season with a bit of dignity now .......

Rubbish!

There always has to be a first time. We could finish second but I am more confident now about winning at Wembley than I ever have been.

Each to their own.... ;)

Winning at Wembely after one game of Morgans management? I'd like to share your optimism. A good result Tuesday will go a long way but one game at a time for me mate. Our track record of disappointment is second to none and I'll be reserving judgement till I see how the next few weeks go.

It's the way the team played against a play off rival that gives me confidence. Could have just come at the right time in the season. We can't rule automatic out but Id be happy see my team win at Wembley :D

This is what Darren does. Statistics and suburban sado-masochist sex parties.

Can we drop the "surburban" please. I live just off Green Lanes, which as anyone will tell you is distinctly urban innit.

Just spotted another record we can equal if we don't lose the last two away games - least number of away defeats in a season 3 - acheived in 1892-93, 1897-98 and 1899-1900. But as we only played, respectively, 11, 15 and 17 away games in those season 3 defeats in 23 would really be a new record :-)

Just spotted another record ....

Regarding club records. Maguire made his 100th appearance for the Blades recently at the age of 19.
Is he the youngest player to reach 100 appearances? If not, who was younger? Edwards or Garner maybe?

There was something in a recent programme about this. Maguire holds the record for the second most appearances as a teenager. Gary Hamson is first, so I stuspect he is the youngest player to reach 100 appearances.

Have we ever gone a full season without winning back to back home games? Don't win tomorrow and that's what we've done

No we haven't. We beat Walsall and Portsmouth in consecutive home games back in Oct.
