The backward thinking that we need to be managed by “one of our own” with “Blades loyalty” in what has become a global game that has moved forwards light years from the past and increasingly adopts ideas, practices and innovations from overseas.

Show me one successful club with this shit “Bladey Blade” mindset.

He claimed he walked in a recorded interview.

Until we can all see his contract and the settlement agreement we’re all guessing. I say all, but l’m not as like virtually everyone else, l don’t know. That doesn’t stop some thought.
 
I don't think wilder could turn us around .Not sure i'd want him back after how he left us.If there was only two managers in the running for the job i.e warnock or wilder i'd take warnock any day .But who knows who could come in.Personally i'd keep hecky as this team would get us back up from the champ but we would then need investment to add better players for the prem or we will be just a yoyo team.

What , exactly, makes you think I follow that way of thinking?
Tensions are high tonight and I've overstepped the mark with a few people then scraped in to edit my comments.
Anyway, I often look at the situation and think what do we need here?
One of the main things for me is no Warnock no Wilder.
Not that there's much point as we have zero control over matters anyway.
I think you need to look elsewhere for the Warnock and Wilder fans. Have fun.
I think the loyalty claims by Warnock and Wilder, are a bit shallow. I don't go in for that at all.

By the time we end the season the team will be on its knees mentally, which there’s no coming back from of the current manager remains, change is needed now!

That’s the odd thing about it. It’s a poisoned chalice at the minute. Other than money, the only upside is rebuilding his rep. Not so much this season as next. Big gamble though if nothing changes. For him and the owner.
 
I really don't think he would be the right option. We're looking back on what he achieved and ignoring his flaws. His system was found out and he refused to adapt and change, he cost a team just coming off the back of a huge huge season with an incredible high to be reduced to barely anything. I know COVID etc but we weren't the only team affected. He then bailed before he had the inevitable relegation to his name.

Make no mistake, his achievements and time with the club were incredible, easily some of the best years of Sheffield United I've ever seen and even if I saw him in the street today and had a conversation with him I would ask him more about that than his departure but we're looking to claw back the glory and I just don't see it happening.

With all that being said I would have literally zero problems for him to walk in and prove me wrong. I want what's best for the club and IF they appoint him we have to give him the chance. HOWEVER, as others have said, I want some formal acknowledgment from him that he knows why we feel the way we do about him and I'd want the apology.

I still think with a decent pre season in the champ the players would bounce back ..we had a rubbish pre season here in the prem and it's cost us dearly with players coming and going when the season started.Still would keep hecky as i think everything has gone against us so far with injuries and plyers not been up to scratch.
 
Surely he coming in now. Since he left the club he been poor so it's concerned this.

Based my judgment on his poor record since leaving the Lane,
Wilder has had his day in the top echelon of English football, SUFC don't need him.
Surely, somewhere in the world of football there is a feller who could come in making United competitive and if relegated it's a relegation with a squad that will finish in the top six of the Championship 2024-25.
 
His first job is obviously to get everyone back on his side. He’s not daft he knows the fan base is divided I’m sure his entourage will make him well aware of this. He’s in a situation where everyone ones expects us go down with record low points, if he turns it around it will be the return of the messiah and all will be forgotten. If he can get everyone back on the grass that would be a start, he might also bring some pashun back on the pitch.
 
Newcastle, West Ham, Fulham, Man U 2nd half, Arsenal - were we that bad in the covid season with Wilder in charge where fans couldn't add any difference?
