Capacity

Option 1 is the obvious, short-term thing to do, short of someone giving us bazillions.
Quite - you would also think it might be possible to build it in such a way that the bolt on need not be demolished for a potential New kop in the future.

It also doesn`t just get you 3k extra seats - it gets you 3k plus all the seats that no-one wants today because they are restricted view.

Man Utd was a sell but attendance was 31,543. Thought we could sell 31.8k? And sure it used to be over 32k, bloody daft.

Very frustrating, I'm sure an extra 1k there yesterday would've been welcomed for finance and the atmosphere.
Without checking I’m sure we had an attendance of over 32000 last time we were in the PL, Liverpool?

Nothings changed at the Lane as far as I know regarding structural changes since then, so why does the capacity keep dropping?

Is it the difference between the number of tickets sold and the number who actually attend?
I keep hearing its number of tickets sold, not number in actual attendance. So I don’t understand the differing numbers on a ‘sellout’

Prince has been taking seats out to put in his garden

I think Wigan last day of 2007 season is the 'modern' all seater record, 32,604.

So we've lost about a thousand seats since then

How many did Man U bring. Every seat was full and so was all the steps and overflowing out from the concourse

We've sold out 3 times this season already.

31,536 v Man U
31,336 v Man C
31,194 v Palace

Make it make sense

It looks like Man U may have been the first visitors to sell all of their tickets - Palace sold 2,750 and Man City sold 2,855 - but that still doesn’t fully explain the discrepancy.

For last night’s gate to be 200 more than the gate v Man City, there must have been more home tickets made available v Man U than against Man C. I believe that the Bramall Lane lower tier has 2,996 seats, so even if Man U sold all their tickets - as they almost certainly did - that only accounts for 141 extra attendees over the Man City gate.

It appears, therefore, that we now have a ‘variable capacity’ depending upon how many blocks of seats - such as the block at the bottom west corner of the John Street that is always empty - it is deemed necessary to leave unsold for the purpose of segregation on any given day.

Most PL clubs sell out the 2800 allocation. Man c, Everton and Newcastle certainly did.

Is that right? I'd have fort elf and safety regs require it to be an accurate number of people in the stadium 🤷🏼‍♂️
I thought it was well known with everyone unless I'm talking shite lol. Some crowds look a lot less than the figures sometimes. (ST holders not turning up)

Noticed a lot of empty seats spread across the Bramall Lane upper tier last night.
Was it due to people with a membership number buying a ticket with a view to selling it online and making a few quid….. but being unsuccessful?

Sold out by United, but tickets still on sale by other ticketing outlets. For some reason typed in tickets for the game on Friday night , one seller had 219 tickets left, one outlet said less than 2% tickets left a third just had tickets for sale. The cheapest price though was £110and over £200 for the most expensive, ridiculous pricing.
So would assume that's why we see empty seats and never a full house.

Any tickets on sale for sale at other outlets have already bee sold, so are auto included in the official attendance.
It's irrelevant if people actually turn up. For several years all clubs report the number of tickets sold (including ST's), never the actual attendance.

Regards United's ever chasing "official sell out" figures. I reckon it's based on the speed they are sold and United need time to ask the safety committee if they can release an extra 100, then only when they're all sold, we need further permission to release another 100 extra tickets etc.

Just put another tier on the south stand Christ sake, wonder how many reluctantly buy tickets at the back of the kop with the manor top massive in their snide stone island gear because that's the only ones left.

Not sure if it's the same at other clubs tbf but our 'capacity' has been laughably inconsistent for as long as I can remember.

The attendance for the Bournemouth match already looking good.

Both sides pretty much done. The corner stand between the South Stand and BLUT also sold out. So you're down to Kop or BLUT if you want to attend that one and that's a good month away.

Impressive. Imagine if we had something tl cheer about too!

That's the case for every home game, there's less than a hundred tickets that go on sale between the South Stand, John Street and Upper corner put together. I'd imagine that particular game will be the lowest crowd all season due to a lack of away fans. Sensing it's our only hope of 3 points though coming up.
