It’s very difficult and a tad unfair to judge Neil’s Prem record.
Marco Silva for example has waltzed into PL jobs and he’s also enjoyed jobs at clubs with serious cash.
Warnock has pretty much exclusively managed clubs he’s had to take there himself and subsequently clubs who had poor top flight budgets who were everyone’s tips for relegation.
We went down by 1 goal under him, didn’t we? Rob Styles either not making up intent as a rule or not refusing a blatant assault on Luton Shelton by Gabriel Heinze and we’d have been safe. Not to mention Tevez, he can count himself unlucky.
He got QPR up, they binned him when he wasn’t even in the bottom three, appointee Mark Hughes who spent money never afforded to Warnock and he took them down.
Who else? A caretaker stint at Palace? Notts County after he’d taken them up two divisions? Cardiff after he’d taken them up himself again?
All expected to go down. All with poor budgets when he was manager.
He’s not got an offer from someone like Villa for instance yet Gerrard waltzed in there a mere novice and don’t talk to me about Lampard’s easy ride to the top table.
So I get the conclusion, but I find it an unfair one on the whole due to the mitigating circumstances.
