Brian Richardson at West Ham in September 1962, Hammers player is Phil Woosnam.
Well cocked that up, proper, my only excuse is I were four thousand miles away in Sept '62 and there were no buses to the Boleyn.
1-1 Graham Shaw penalty, I see.
Remember his penalty method, run up and hit it as hard as possible, I equated it very much like taking a goal kick.

Bert, yesterday, grand daughter sent me a photo of herself, babe in arms, and her grandmother taken by an auntie some twenty + years ago. Broke me up and made me 'blubber' for quite awhile until I could gather my emotions.
This photo of the pavilion is on around eighty +percent emotionally of the photo I was sent yesterday.
Brings a tear to the eye, remembering all the great players who trod the boards, from before W.G. down to 'Sir' Geoffrey. Surely could have been an asset to the club, properly marketed.
Good post Bert, but to an old codger, very, very sad.

Football and cricket taking place simultaneously at Bradford Park Avenue on 7 May 1966, with Bradford PA losing 2-1 to Port Vale in a Division Four fixture (attendance 4,978, Bradford's scorer Kevin Hector), and Bradford Cricket Club beating Lightcliffe by 113 runs in a Bradford League match.

Absolutely this. I acknowledge things move on over time and progress is essential, but the demolition of the cricket pavilion was an act of pure vandalism. A kick in the bollocks to those craftsmen who designed and built it. But hey, throwing the city's heritage down the shitter is a thing we excel at in Sheffield.
