It's so infuriating that our club seems to make the same mistakes over and over again. It is not Wilson, or McCabe or the players specifically but anyone associated with the club seems to make the same errors time and time again.

1. 4-5-1 has never and will never work. If we had played 2 up front away from home in the premier league I am convinced we would not have been relegated. For the last half a dozen games we have done the same and are suffering going forward because of it.
2. Playing players because they are "100%ers" or because they "do a job" is simply not enough any more. I'm not going to target players in this current team, but I think we all have an idea which players I mean.
3. Have we ever prospered from a loanee, ever? I can only think of a couple, but on the whole our loan signings are useless and never improve the team.
4. Players out of position. Why? I can't understand at all! Warnock did it, Blackwell did it, and Wilson has done it a lot this season.

Today is an embarrassment. Think we all know it's another Wembley disappointment again!

Oooh careful the clapper police will be on here soon!

Yes, very frustrating. To be objective Sheffield United are no more favourites for promotion than half a dozen other clubs and it'll go to the wire as usual, probably with a monumental SU screw up. Best bet, go away for four weeks and come back last week of the season so you'll only be disappointed once.

Fucking hell, the complete absence of 100%ers is the problem.

Half the team are hiding from the ball, the other lot are jogging around like they're at the beach.

No tempo, tactics and a preoccupation with old players with no pace.

Most boring promotion campaign ever - I'm bringing a duvet and a pillow to the next home game.

I'm glad you dug that one out again, hadn't heard it for 15 minutes on here...zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I disagree, it's the absense of talent. The main (only) defence of Doyle and Flynn is that they "give it their all". if Doyle could pass to a red and white shirt, or Flynn could beat a man we might be in a different position. Full backs who get a nose bleed past the half way line, one man up front and a scarily low amount of chances created in each game. Exciting this blades side, innit.

Disagree.

Doyle and Flynn jog about like ponces - where's the bite? Last time I saw either steam into a tackle, get into the faces of the opposition - never. Christ, I would have rather haved Monty than bloody Doyle at the minute. Flynn is even nesher.

Said It after watching him last week flynn is weak as a fuckin kitten

You think we'll get that far?

If we don't get auto we won't get to Wembley

Yes we will definitely get to Wembley. Our record in playoff semi-finals is brilliant. It's the final where we finally implode!

1. we have won 4 out of he last 5 away games. 3 of those wins we played 4-5-1. Yesterday we switched to 4-4-2 at half time and had a pacy striker to support Kitson ...we conceded 3 goals and created about the same chances as the first half. Agree we shouldn't play 4-5-1 at home thou UNLESS we have 2 pace men wide(eg.. Forte and Murphy)

2. I just don't think certain players are good enough and a couple are 'show ponys'

3.We haven't relied too much on loans this seasosn. But Halford ,Cahill, Cotterill(when on loan) and Reid to mind re good loan signings. I am sure there are more. It could be argued we haven't used the loan market well enough this season(like the pigs last season)

4. I can only think of Williams out of position this season being played out of position and possibly Robson. Although it could be argued that his free role behind Kitson in away games was a good move(up to yesterday) as it made us more solid

We played 4-4-2 away at Shrewsbury and Bury and at home vs Colchester, which started our run. The away matches at Bournemouth and Oldham are the ones where 4-4-1-1 have not given us disappointing results.

Our last 8 matches:

Shrewsbury 1-2 Blades *4-4-2
Bury 0-2 Blades *4-4-2
Blades 3-0 Colchester *4-4-2
Bournemouth 0-1 Blades *4-4-1-1
Blades 0-0 Leyton Orient *4-4-1-1
Oldham 0-2 Blades *4-4-1-1
Blades 0-0 MK Dons *4-4-1-1
Stevenage 4-0 Blades *4-4-1-1

I don't think it's right to only focus on the formations though. I've been advocating two quick lads in the starting line up and we had that against Shrewsbury and Bury. We only had one against Colchester, scored from an early penalty, then added a couple more after substitutions saw us again have more pace and mobility.

We stifled Bournemouth and little pace/movement didn't prevent us from beating Oldham either. But I think those success stories have made us think we can get away with not-so-adventurous line ups, and it's given us three disappointing results from the last four.

I know he came back for the MK game (possibly not fit) but the lack of goals have coincided with Murphy being out of the team. Not saying he's a world beater but game changing players is what's sadly missing and at least he gives the opposition something to think about.

We're playing against 3rd division defenders and aren't putting them under anywhere near enough pressure. We saw last season what happened when the likes of Ched just went for it and whilst you can't go gung-ho, we're too easy to defend against at the moment.
