Games after lockdown:

Slow start:
Aston Villa 0-0 United
Newcastle 3-0 United
Man U 3-0 United
United 1-2 Arsenal (FA cup quarter final)

We then rallied:
United 3-1 Spurs
Burnley 1-1 United
United 1-0 Wolves
United 3-0 Chelsea

Before completely running out of steam
Leicester 2-0 United
United 0-1 Everton
Southampton 3-1 United

The reason we went down was a combination of tactical inflexibility, poor recruitment, inadequate players, loss of key performers and managerial intrasingence. All of those are partly or wholly Chris Wilder's fault.

You mean the tactics that Hecky changed back too after slav left ahh yes those tactics

We currently have a manager playing chris wilder tactics err ehy not just go get the man himself

Hecky doesnt deserve to be acked right now but i think there will be pleny thinking its a smart decision if if if we dont win by fulham and the next international break

It's this bit for me, it's so disproportionate it's unbelievable. It doesn't seem to be reflected in real life though, most people you speak to have nothing but good things to say about his time at the Lane. It's just the internet doing it's thing.

There is no balance

You can say wilder lost his head towards the end whilst still saying he left the club in a different stratosphere from the one when he walked in

This was a lie the last time you said it under your previous name. We don’t play the same tactics at all, from any of Wilders seasons with us.
I would have thought someone so highly qualified in coaching would be able to see it to be honest.
If not I hope you kept the receipts from your training courses.

The momentum was starting to wain after Christmas before the pandemic we were crap at Palace ( who were crapper) and won scraped past Norwich drew with Brighton
We were regressing from a tactically innovative team to a scrappy ,rigid more direct team thats for sure
Was really disapointing

The momentumn carried on we beat chelsea/wolves/spurs at home after lockdown

The reason we went down was combination of things

Id rather judge a manager on the 4/5 years he was here than a 10 game spell at the start of a season

The grief wilder gets is insane and if we were to get rid of hecky which i can see happening if we dont pick up a win wilder would be the only man for the job
The reason we went down was only scoring 20 goals..nowhere near enough.

He's the Tony Blair of Blades managers. Took over when we were on our knees, brought back the feelgood factor, gave us years of success but made a couple of disastrous judgement calls towards the end and it's all anyone seems to remember or judge him on.

I like the analogy but you're not hard done by if you're remembered for going to war under a false pretensions leading to the deaths of thousands of innocent people. Poor old Tony 🤣

I wouldn’t even class Blackwell with that bastard.

Let's have a look then

It looked like a miracle given what the previous dozen games had looked like.
Easier said than done have a look at Carrick for example.
Having a net spend of about 20 million we are competing in the best league in the world and making the fans of those teams foul their underwear over the thought of us taking points from them, could the supposed best managers in the league or even Southgate do what Heckingbottom has done? I'll answer that for you 'no they could not'.

Do you agree yet that you are a buffon?

He plays a 3-5-2, that is about it. So do a lot of clubs, Wilder didn't invent it. Apart from the high press, mostly it's a different style altogether under Heckingbottom

Its the same but we dont overlap or create overloads anywhere near as much as under wilder

Its wilderball but not as good IMO

I'm not saying he's hard done by, just bemoaning the death of nuance. Not downplaying Iraq, which I agree with you on, but domestically his governments did more good than harm - both of these things can be true. Similarly, Wilder completely lost the plot post-Covid but is still the best manager we've had in my lifetime, that aspect of it doesn't magically stop counting just because he fucked up later.
