I honestly think the story of the season will be "Sheff Utd undone on their weak left side" unless we get someone of Premier League quality in there. We looked poor on the left last season, we haven't strengthened, just a gamble of a loan from French League 2 Troyes. I think we'll really regret not trying to strengthen here. We could really do with another forward in to partner Archer too.

I thought I was banging the drum on my own, experienced LWB and a experienced LCD plus a ATM or 2 and a LCM and the wishlist up top origi
We still need 6 , we're not going to get them all this window but if we're there or there abouts in January we will need to address this issue of LHS
We've bought trusty and unless he's not fit why hasn't hecky put him in ???
how far off is RND?
What's the team for Sunday??

RND is a gamble at this point given the length of his injury and the fact he's never played at this level. Would be amazing if he got fit and was able to just come back on and perform at this level, but I'm not holding my breath. Trusty cost us £5 million so I'm sure he's very much part of the plan, I'm guessing Hecky wants to give Robinson a crack out of fairness given he helped us win promotion, but will be quick to drop him if/when he puts a foot wrong.
 
Man Utd lad 😳................ makes me think of Notman and Twiss (shudders) have we ever loaned owt any good from Man Utd?
 
I think next priority needs to be defensive cover. Egan and Anel have been average in both games and JLT has barely put a foot wrong. No idea when Trusty will be "ready". If larouci has a mare and baldock gets injured again we're fucked.

Midfield shaping up very nicely and Archer only adds to our attacking potential.

Agree with that, so far Robinson has looked our strongest of the back 3 with Anel and Egan seemingly forgetting that they’ve previously played with each other, would be harsh to drop him without giving Hecky a reason to do so
 
Isn’t it a worry that we are saying that none of Lowe,Osborn,RND,Robinson,Larouci are not good enough to play LWB in the premier league,they are 5 of the 25 man squad,what a waste !!

I think RND is good enough for PL though, it’s just a matter of when he’s back?

He is still learning our ‘special’ way of playing,but at £5m he will be first pick as left of the back three,when he is ready i would play Robinson out of what we have available at the moment at LWB :

Baldock,Anel,Egan,Trusty,Robinson

However,it is the quality of our final midfield three that will be the major deciding factor as to whether we survive or not !!
 



JLT is a far better player when Lowe doesn't play, don't think he trusts him to be in the right place or to make a tackle when it matters.
Thought Trusty could play lwb, but maybe not.
Perhaps need to be patient with Larouci.
It's one area that I would really criticise the club about, our defensive left hand side has been week since we lost RND almost a year ago and we haven't done a right lot to rectify it.
We keep conceding goals from crosses down that side, the opposition will see that and exploit it.
If Larouci or Trusty aren't good enough to play there I would prefer to play Osborn as Lwb.

Fully agree with Lowe’s apparent impact on the confidence of JLT. Lowe really frustrates me - I thought he was going to be a top player, but, while he still produces good flashes going forward, he’s so often AWOL on defensive duties, appearing to have momentarily lost concentration.
I’d personally put Trusty in at left centre back ASAP, and then either switch JLT or Osborn to LWB, subbing Larouchi on, and increasing his exposure over the next month or two to let him settle in, build his confidence, and show us what he’s got. He’s got huge potential ( in my opinion), but it’s a big step up for him professionally and personally and he needs to be given a bit of time.
Of course, if RND returns as anything like the player he was, then a lot of these challenges go away. Unfortunately, we have no idea as to where he’s at in terms of his recovery. The fact that Hecky hasn’t brought established experience in to this position ( because he will obviously have seen the problem!) gives me hope that progress with RND is expected, rather than hoped for.
 
We need one more body in the midfield who can play a more attacking role and someone at the back who can cover RCB/CB. I don't want to be seeing Basham starting unless we're in absolute crisis mode.

A GK would be a nice to have rather than a need to have though if we stay up and have any designs on being a mid table team, Wes might not be the answer, though he might prove us all wrong again.
 
Think we might get Henderson in as the big money guy and McAtee on loan, before we're done, maybe Jebbison out or on loan

Defensively we are an injury away from catastrophe tbh. This includes Wes who I don’t think is up to the standard we need but at the same time “will do”
