Looking like one of the worst View Froms ever for this guy. Not sure how much you can read into them really but I was expecting a lot more praise and less "he's the worst player we've ever had"
But right at the end, there'll be a quote from an oinker saying he's brilliant and we should spend all our available funds on him. They do love a contrarian view after all.......

The more I see and read about this chap, the more I think that the early posts in this thread being dead excited about him must have been confused and somehow thought we were signing Vinicius Jr.

This fantastic signing who will transfer the side and make us forget Ndiaye and he's a poor man's David Batty...
A destitute man's David Batty would get in our side at the minute neve remind a poor man's

Everyone was happy with this then because nothing that dramatic has happened today everyone suddenly thinks he’s a bad player and must get angry. What are we doing here people

The Views are from Espanyol. I've had to leave a few out because the language used to describe him is likely to offend people.

There are some positive bits in there though and ,as mentioned above, Flecks View From was crap too.
A defensive player in a team that struggled last season is always going to get pelters. Especially a team like Espanyol who historically have done much better previously. I'll not read into it too much

Provided we get SOME creative midfield player/s in before the end of August, Souza looks to be exactly the kind of player we are going to need.
We won't have much possession and winning the ball back will be important.
I am a big fan of Sander, but he is very passive in his pressing and tackling, better players will easily cope with that.
I have only seen the reel (I would imagine Lunny's or Osborne's show reel looks great too) but \i would be pleased with this signing.
The bigger question is, who will provide the creativity?. I think Slimane will provide some of this, but we need someone better to link the midfield to any strikers we might have fit this season!

I've expressed an initial opinion based on the 2 videos I've seen and a few stats I've read. Far from a final judgement.
I’m not suggesting that it’s a final judgement, but you’ve expressed a judgement nevertheless.

Putting semantics aside, you’ve dived in on virtually no evidence, and taken the trouble to express a negative view on the player, prefacing your comments with “is it just me”, in a clear invitation to draw other flies in to the steaming turd ( with some success) and gain some momentum on this theme.

That’s what bothers me. I have no idea of your posting history, and have no axe to grind with you, but I’ve grown sick and tired of the many efforts on this forum to create feeding frenzies of negativity on topics for which there is little or no actual evidence, and have chosen this one as a vehicle for venting my frustration ( sorry).

It’s almost if people are enjoying this. I have a horrible image of the swarm of flies buzzing in anticipation of the deposit of the “View from”, in the event that we even manage to land this player - it promises to be the worst ever apparently ( rubs hands with glee). I suggest that those folk revisit the View from Brentford on JOC, or even his early performances for the Blades, and think about the value of reserving judgement until there is at least a reasonable body of evidence on which to base it.

Up the Blades.

Yep, much better to rely on 5 minutes of YouTube clips, showing his best bits.

Having read all that, this is a forum for discussions where people can express opinions... which is what I've done based on what I've seen.

My post was to gage others opinion from what is out there or if anyone has further knowledge on the player. It certainly wasn't to create a toxic atmosphere.

Having said all that... let's not bicker. I'll be there Saturday and will get behind whoever plays.

All blades aren't we?

What did you see what they didn’t? Tarqs mattbianco1

Well, he's not owned by them and they've been relegated and there always has to be a fall guy.

However, if we're selling Berge, this bloke is pointless without anything ahead of him, he's a shield and a ball winner, something we've never really had in the middle and we've been missing. Look against stuttgart, out of possession we were pathetic (and have been for a long time, we're ok at jockeying, but poor at winning the ball back).

He gives us that in spades.

No surprises that Fulham, Burnley, Celtic and Liverpool have been previously linked.

Even his best bits is five minutes of him blocking shots and snapping into tackles. Use skills no doubt but they hardly set the pulse racing and they certainly don't explain the early enthusiasm for this signing.

Why would the fall guy be someone who was quality for them - that’s what I’m not understanding.

Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against David Batty. But even Alpha-Prime David Batty wouldn't render Iliman Ndiaye a forgotten man, or begin to replace Berge in midfield.

Cos he's never been there player?

Depends what you want, Spanish love flair players, their hero is Sergei Darder, this bloke isn't a flair player, he's a worker, a winner and giver. As I pointed out, something we've seriously lacked in midfield for a long time.

If you look at La Liga stats, his defensive stats are unparalleled.

Possibly because we, the fans, have been moaning for at least the last 3 seasons about our midfield being totally unable to stop opponents running through us like a dose of Epsom salts?

But making Ndiaye a "forgotten man" because we bought a hatchet man from the Belgian second tier? Even if it's something we're missing in the side I just don't get it.

Well he's certainly no Ndiaye replacement, or Berge, so if anyone is expecting that, then expect disappointment.

He's never played in the belgium second tier btw.

Yet Burnley prefer berge than him so have dropped interest, makes you wonder who knows best

No but that's where we're buying him from, I was careful not to say he played there.

It's on the first page, I don't want to single out the post again but it says there Ndiaye would be forgotten if we signed this kid, I just don't see that being true at all of someone who shields the defence and passes the ball three yards.

Surely the objective of signing him would be to improve the team from its current position, by bringing in something that we are currently missing from the side. We can then recruit other people that can do other things, such as providing attacking flair.
We won’t be recruiting another Ndaiye for a long time, but we can still improve the team. Neither would I ever want Ndaiye to become a “forgotten man” - upset as I was at the circumstances of his departure, he has provided me with some wonderful memories.

Problem is, Berge wasn't on his way out back then :-(
