if any swap is done for jebbo i reckon maupay could be part of the deal although holgate might still be of interest to hecky ps has tom davies been released by everton ?

If we got decent money or a decent swap deal, I reckon we've got to go for it, especially with him not wanting to sign.

I know he's young and we fear he could be worth more if we hold onto him; but genuinely, if he didn't come with this label of being 'highly rated' and Juve, Dortmund etc after him would we ourselves think twice?

That sub appearance against Preston aside, have we hand on heart seen owt to think he's this special? I reckon without the reputation we wouldn't bat an eyelid. His biggest and best chance of keeping us up is going and bringing in some money/players who can.

IF he goes, how about Miles Leaburn from Charlton as a replacement? Not seen him enough, but he seems similar to Jebbison and has been linked to PL clubs before.

In terms of a swap can only see us getting Everton youth players in return due to the mental wages they pay out to their first team players.

And no way do I want Maupay, on mental wages and has been woeful at Everton since a big move.

What about Tom Cannon (more likely a straight swap), scored 8 in 20 last season while on loan at Preston.

Heard Hecky say a couple of times, at least, that the door is wide open to the youngsters up top, and they need to take the chance. Is this a veiled push to Jebbo to put up or shut up? Could be that Hecky is getting impatient and given the contract situation he's more open to the possibility of allowing him the leave and getting some funds to strengthen.

The problem with Jebbo and Osula is they need game time out on loan, but our striking department is so depleted we can't loan them out so instead they're sat on a bench or starting the odd game. At least with a PL club (with PL money) they could afford to go out on loan where they'll get a fair run of game time to develop.

Their progress is being stymied - the players and agents know that.

Swap deal for Maupay and/or Holgate is a terrible move. If he won't sign a new deal (a terrible outcome) I'd prefer the cash unless they have some top youngsters I've not heard about.

Don't think he's even been injured tbh, feel like his departure has been coming for a while and there's been a serious breakdown between him and the club.

Not itk, just a suspected hunch.

No, make him stay. We have an option for a years extension I think? Activate it. I know we have only recently got into contract discussions with him so hopefully he signs, if not activate the year extension. Selling our top young talent has to stop.

I honestly think he wants out just as bad if not more than Ramsdale did.

Shocking decision if we sell this lad who has so much potential
I think he's got the potential to go far and I'd like it to be with us but same old spectre isn't it. Last year of contract, player wanting game time but not quite good enough for the league we've found ourselves in. Ideal situation is, he signs a new 3 - 5 year deal, gets loaned out to a mid-top end Championship club, for a full season and comes back stronger, in full form and can be part of a formidable 5 man strike force for us.

Why? He seems a happy lad and not someone sulking, can’t fault his work ethic. Doesn’t strike me as someone wanting out badly. He may want a big move to somewhere like Bayern or Dortmund I think most young lads would but apart from big clubs like that we can offer him a better chance of progression than say Everton. Give him a decent contract and I think he’ll sign personally especially if we say your going nowhere because we are gonna activate the extra year anyway.

The door wide open comment was Hecky talking about McBurnie and Brewster being injured and Traore having not arrived yet, so the opportunity to start next season instead of them was wide open if they performed well in pre-season while they'd gotten a golden chance to impress. Saying they need to take the chance was exactly in relation to that. He made the comment after Osula wasted yet more opportunities to score as Hecky sounded annoyed that he'd given him this chance to impress and he wasn't doing so due to how poor and wasteful he'd been in front of goal up to that point. Jebbo had also failed to impress him in pre-season, failing to score or do anything significant of note, and not looking anything like a potential goal scorer.

It was pretty obvious that was what he was talking about, not contracts.

We the fans think he has potential but….

I’m not sure the management have. Why, he has never been given the opportunity and it those guys who pick the team week in week out.

When he does get his 5 mins of fame and does good like Preston at home last season and changed the game, he gets dropped next game or hauled off after 65 mins

We either back him and play the lad or sell home.

Think it was said get rid of Jebbo and this may enable us to go for Akpom and Tillman. Has this changed.
I would concentrate on Osula anyway it always seemed like one or the other.

It does appear on face value that Hecky thinks Osula is ahead of Jebbison and if it is one or the other then I guess he’d be willing to let him go.
