Amazes me that a manager like Heckingbottom, now in the PL, hasn't focused on getting a LWB who is at least solid, especially when we have the Baldock/Stevens template from last time, and especially when the other LWB is Lowe, a poor defender

Maybe he has, but either we bring in one who is no better than what we have or we wait until the one we want is available.

I was referring to the players in this (and so presumably Saturday's) starting lineup.

The rest of the squad are even further away but that's to be expected for a newly promoted team. Having said that, at least Norwood and Fleck have done it before.

Agreed but we do need an 11 who are ready, so we either need some ready-made Premier League signings, or most of the gambles to click straight away.

By the time we get to the 5th, following a break, then we should have all the new ones in place and ready to step up.

Hopefully so, but the first few were a real chance to pick up some points before a difficult spell of fixtures, so we'll be on the back foot straight away.

Have to credit Osula some of his hold up play has been impressive just lacking a bit of composure. No doubting there is a player there. If we were in the Championship I'd be ok him starting unfortunately we ain't .. UTB

It doesn't sounds great, but it's half a first team out there. The most worrying thing is next week maybe more like 9 from the team playing now will be playing and we need more players now. I wish the season wasn't starting next week, more to the point that the window could close earlier than it does.
