It’s depressing that we’ve been conditioned as a fanbase to accept such crap decision making and lack of ambition. And I’m not criticising the fans in any way, it’s just poor ownership over the last few decades.

9 (?) seasons in the top flight in 50 years is because of decisions like selling your best player after a promotion season. Truly disheartening.
Fucking bang on mate, and I go back to when we sold Mick Jones, and it still fucking hurts!!!

As he should be. Until he his formally sold or any deal is just about agreed, then he is contract to SUFC and should get on with his job (which I'm sure he is more than happy to do to be fair to the kid).
He wouldn’t be the first to try and force a move though and it’s very good that he seemingly isn’t. We can say “this is what he should be doing, he’s under contract” but we know not everyone acts that way. Helps us hopefully either get our valuation for him, or we just keep him for his final season.

I don’t worry about Ndaiye or berge for that matter Downing tools….

Berge has already proven he’ll play despite intense speculation about his future (and is a decent and respectful lad) and illiman seems a sound lad who is on the path to a dream move OR a dream of being a PL regular with a dream move 12m away.

If he’s happy to wait it out and move for free it’s essentially win-win for him so no need to throw the toys out of the pram at this stage - even if we play Hard ball with OM. It’s not like he’d be wasting his time in the championship again

Do you mean like the time 'our' Harry Maguire decided that he had sun stroke before a friendly to force a move away to the mighty Hull City....

I wasn't impressed with the lad for that one.

I think that's the whole point though of the transfer policy of buying cheap, selling high! If we don't sell it's because it's gone wrong and we've got a team full of Bobby Fords, Nick Montgomery and on the other end if the scale the expensive flops like Rhian Brewster. Ndiaye cost us next to nothing and his agent has seemingly not wanted to negotiate with the club for a while; heck, it took weeks to get him or his agent to commit to the original three year deal.

In an ideal world we sell Ndiaye for £30milkuon but his contract situation and his agent makes it very difficult.

Booker4, if we do have to sell him we should be looking 20 - 30 mil big sell on clause and also loaned back to us for the season
If he goes then wherever he goes he'll stay I'd imagine. I can only see him going if Marseille come in for him with a serious bid because he knows if he joins someone else now then he won't be at Marseille for years, if ever. So that's in our favour in a way.

Why they hell would they even consider loaning him back to us for the season?

If we don’t agree a fee and he’s minded to force a move he can sit tight til January, sign a pre-contract agreement and leave for free in the summer.

There’s no way on this planet they’re paying 20-30 million for the privilege of loaning him back to us.

If they pay a fee it’s so they can use him now

If Ndiaye is not in today's team, I would say he is just about sold. hopefully, he is playing for us today, that could be good if he is not sold. Either way, if we accept £20m.i would call that daylight robbery.
Half the teams Been sold them

It’s not tapping up. Players within their final year of contract are allowed to talk to other clubs. I think it’s last 12 months abroad and 6 months domestic.
With the specific permission of the parent club.

Big Red. are you pissed up or on drugs. No way I would let him go for £10m thats daylight robbery even more.£30m would be more like it.
Are you pissed up!?
Do you even understand how football transfers work??
Hes got 1yr left, he can sign a pre agreement with another club and move for free at the end of the season, if he had 3 or even 2 yrs left on his contract, he might be worth £20/25m, but he hasn't, and if he puts in a request and the only offer is £8m, do United risk him playing shit or even refusing to play, or do they think about it, try negotiating and take the best offer/only offer on the table, with a view of investing it back and doing the best thing for the club!?
Or, maybe everything is as easy as play station games.

If players will sign for a club just because there their home or favourite team, I know a couple of players at least we should be putting low bids in for right now.,,,, ;)
I remember turning down Gainsborough Trinity to sign for Swallownest Miners Welfare when I was 18 because Swallownest would pay my travel expenses (221 bus from Aston - 4p) and provided after match refreshments . Whereas I had to cadge a lift with my mate to Gainsborough ,there and back ,and he wasn’t that reliable so they kept docking my £15 a week wages when I missed training .

Of course - many many years ago - I don’t think IN is swayed as much by the money as I was

Nope, I don't drink or take drugs, put it this way I have been a Blade since 1966 so I know about football transfers. He has one year.we don't know if Ndiaye has a pre-agreement with another club. I doubt if the club has any knowledge either. The player would have to get permission from his current first.he is still under contract with The Blades so we have the right to turn down any approaches for him.He is a Fantastic Player and keeping him is vital to keeping us in the premier league. Ndiaye has a great start and scores a few. All the big clubs will be after him. I think it would be best to keep him. Then if he still wants to leave fair enough. I was a bit sharp in regards to being pissed and on drugs so I will apologize for that. everyone is entitled to have an opinion. after all, We are All Blades, aren't We.

I'm obviously heavily biased but I think the best compromise would be a new contract with us and a reasonable release clause. £17m isn't likely to help us as much this season as Ndiaye playing would, and sentimentality aside I honestly think the best thing for his career is to be in the shop window in the Prem. If he's as good as I think he is then he could have better options than Marseille after a season with us. If he is going to leave us I think he should set his sights higher. No disrespect to them but the Premier League is better than Ligue 1.

Why cannot we replace him ?
MGW arrived with no great excitement on here and IN was hardly outstanding in the previous season.
If sufficient money is paid and mainly reinvested the squad as a whole may be better.
We all know what talent he has, but it is not tested at PL level, so let’s not go overboard on how good he is or how disastrous would be his leaving.
Having said that I do want to see how good he could be with us in the PL
I just don't think Iliman can be replaced in our budget is my view. We already had Ndiaye to replace MGW, Iliman is a one off who you can't replace unless you've got some serious cash. I appreciate Ili cost little, but we can't find an equivalent to replace him in my view. Traore will provide some decent creativity but he's coming from Sweden and I just don't see him as a r3gular starter in his first season, but he does look very promising, assuming he arrives.

If we’ve made him a decent and fair contract offer and he’s now rejected it, then I’d be happy to play the cunt with Marseille and Ndiaye.

The Gyökeres to Sporting deal has set the bare minimum fee, so if Marseille aren’t willing to pay that, then like you say get him training with the kids until his contract is up.
You must be jesting !!

We had Duffy in that role previously as well, so the players are out there, it's just a shame that we can't seem to hang on to any of them for a Premier League season. It would be nice to be up there with some creativity for once.

French Riviera becoming too hot to live in let alone play sport !!
[/QUOTE]
Plenty of nice places to live in on the French Riviera. Marseilles isn't one of them!

Nice little "Fuck you" to Marseilles with the team selection. Very much not the actions of a team who is desperate to push their star man out the door!

You are assuming that we replace him with one player and I agree that would be difficult, but if we get a decent fee then we could bring in two or three. None would be as good as him, but overall the squad may be stronger.
