Haven’t you heard? He’s just looking for another place in Sheffield! A bigger one. That’s all it is. And they’re selling all the furniture to buy better stuff.
 
What's Illi on a week now? 10K? That's half a million a year. What's the point in them selling a load of Ikea shit for £30 a pop? Even if he's on half of that, the point stands. Reminds me of this Eddie Murphy bit:

Why sell him now with a year left on contract. If bottom of league at christmas sell him in january window but if mid table sell next summer or make offer he cant refuse if blades win a further year in Prem it is worth a punt.
The French are stiring it up and shef united news are reporting the garbage alleged deals done when nothing is agreed. Stand firm as i want to see Ily a d Treori head up strike partnership for glory.

Them agreeing with the player was always going to be an easy one. The fact he hasn’t signed since being a Premier League reserve with hardly any appearances, means he’s probably been on a low wage relatively speaking.

His handlers have shown no interest to tie him down further to United unfortunately.

But I don’t quite get this sense of entitlement from the Marseilles side.

He’s free next summer and he’s probably still worth anything between 20-30m now.

On one hand one of the claims is he’ll get to play Champions League. Ok, then don’t deny you have CL cash too.

Pay his value or simply fuck off and stop destabilising our pre-season.

If you can’t afford him, then go and shop somewhere cheaper.

The fact he supports you makes for a nice story for Marseilles. It isn’t enough for us to drop our pants to make it happen.

Football as well as entertainment is a business. It isn’t the make-a-wish foundation!

played 90 minutes in the PL - get in the real world man

OM are to him what SUFC are to Billy so there’s a massive emotional attachment

We’ve paid him nect to nowt in wages

I don’t think he will, but nor will Berge or Egan or Baldock.
Joined Pre-Season later than the rest due to International Duty; wouldn’t be surprised to see them get an extra 45 minutes rest.

Payet did just that when he was at West Ham, he was only interested in going to OM.
 
It's a weird one for sure. Can't see a lad of his young age wanting his "dream" move just yet. Marseille would most likely be an end of career move. However he'd be in the shop window if he plays well and Marseille progress in the CL.

He's said he wants to win the ballon d'or but he won't at Marseille so why not sign a new deal with us, impress in the premier league and get a massive money move in 1-2 years time?

However if we receive 20m for him it's not a bad deal at all

Their squad isn't all that great, their league isn't great, he's a chance of making the 18 or 11 straight away, against poorer league sides, possible CL football, closer to home, decent money, large fanbase. There's plenty of positives.

It would feel like and underwhelming move for us, because we think he's destined for bigger and better things, but it could be a very shrewd stepping stone for him. He'd be testing himself far more here though, mind.
 
This might be his only shot at playing for OM, anything can happen in football as we all know, of course we all believe he will end up being a top prospect at a top team in one of worlds best leagues but nothing is guaranteed

Its not really an end of career move though. Kyle Walker returning to us from Man City is an end of career move. NDiaye moving to OM who are in the Champions League & playing alongside a full team of internationals is a step up from where he is now. I do agree that impressing in the Premiership is a better platform for him to go on to

The thing the club have to ignore is regardless of his love for Marseille we have to get the best money we can right now or keep hold of him and accept you've given up the prospect of £20m in the bank right now.

The Prince tends to be a stubborn negotiator.

We're not obliged to settle for some arbitrary fair market value.

It would take a 20-30m investment to replace him in terms of what he means to our team.

He may even be worth twice that in a year.

The seller dictates the price or they don't sell.

You say that but is this the typical Blades fans reaction to the true value of our players.

Hasn’t the Coventry lad just gone for a fee reported to be around 20 million. I stand corrected but I think he also only had 12 months left on his contract. If he’s 20 million then why would you value Illi at significantly less than that
