What a ridiculous, patronising statement. Your sarcasm is completely misplaced. You are comparing Paul Ifill to Messi and Ronaldo??
I'm not being sarcastic and nor am I comparing Ifill to Ronaldo. My statement is a fair one.
When you have to start a sentence with "When you take away his goals and assists..." then you are obviously looking for a reason to criticise a player who is clearly contributing a lot to the team, presumably because you have some kind of agenda against him. If you took away Keith Edwards goals, he contributed diddly to the team, something which he freely admits himself. But that's the point - he DID contribute, because he scored all of those goals. Why are you wanting to take away the goals scored and created by Ifill to show that he contributed nothing, when in the real world, he did contribute an awful lot!?
It's this I despair at. Looking for reasons to beat up our own players. Gets on my tits. "If you take away..." - well no actually, you CAN'T take away the fact that Ryan Flynn has created more goals than anyone in the division so far this term. And why would you want to?
My point about him being a third division player is that to get out of the third division, you need most of your players to be capable of playing above that level. Flynn isn't.
My bet is that (no dig intended here) you're London based fan who doesn't get to many games, and rely on such stats for your info?
Well I disagree with you. I would say that Flynn is capable of playing in the Championship, but we can't really prove or disprove these points so I won't dwell on it. However, let me address your point about my watching games.
This season alone, I have attended six away matches and have watched four games on highly dubious internet streams (two home, two away). We've played 22 league games this season, so really, I have seen no fewer games than your average season ticket holder that doesn't go to away matches.
I also subscribe to BladesPlayer, so not only do I get to listen to the games that I can't see, I can watch highlights and indeed full games if I choose to. I don't like your suggestion that just because I live in London, my opinion is somehow worth less than yours.
The constant Flynn bashing is really starting to grind my gears. I know what his weaknesses are and I agree with everyone that points them out. The difference is I can also see what he brings to the team and at this level, it's okay. He's doing a good job, get off his case. If he can't cut it in the Championship, we can move him on, but we have to get there first.
