Not at all surprised to be honest. What's surprising is the attitude a lot of fans have towards him - but then, with Monty and Quinny gone its natural that another important member of the team would become a target.
Flynn is hard-working, tidy on the ball, has an eye for goal, and delivers a decent cross more often than not. But because he frequently cuts inside onto his natural foot and isn't a physically strong player, that isn't good enough.
Tidy on the ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did you watch the Tranmere game? he was utter bobbar, couldn't control a damp cap.
Flynny's the new Quinny (but gives up a little less).

Rather than discussing for ever about whether a player is good enough at the current level, we should look more at how we can compose a balanced team where players' attributes complement eachother and where their good qualities are being used to maximum effect.
Flynn is targeted because he's not very good.
Rubbish. Most creative player in the division at present and he's notched a few times as well. I really don't get what extra people want from him. He's slightly built so he gets pushed over now and then. If he added strength to his game, he'd be off in January.

Has Deadbat seen this? He is super critical at times, but this shows that Flynn has been our most creative player.
Hmmm. Lies and statistics. I've never needed a scapegoat, and I don't now. But Ryan Flynn is a weak link in an important position.

fans naturally 'target' players who they perceive as not good enough or weak links in the team.. it isn't a coordinated conspiracy.. everyone knows who the poorest performing players are in the current first 11 and that is flynn, porter and macmahon.. if they up their game then they will lose the tag very quicklyNot at all surprised to be honest. He is the most creative player in the team. Fact! Creative as in creating the most goals. He has the highest assists. Surprised anyone would argue with that.
For what it is worth, I don not rate him that highly. There's a reason why he never got as look in last year. Willo or Quinn would be a much better option. He is lightweight and nesh. However he is the best we've got. I am disappointed we're relying on such an average player to create things. However this is the case. And he has been the most creative player. You might not rate him, but the evidence is pretty clear!
i think if it hits you on the back of the head and someone scores it is an assist..Well, the pure facts are the pure facts - but it takes about 2 simple passes onto a decent finisher to move you from mid table to the top of that assist league.
Looking at Paul Ifill's stats in 05/06 you would think he was one of the players of year. Yet take away his goals and assists and he was awful.
I don't care where he's playing football in five years time. This year he's playing in League One and he's proving to be the most creative player there. And last time I checked, we're in League One. You can fill in the blanks yourself.Edit - let's hold this thought and see where Ryan Flynn is playing football in 5 or 6 years time.
I really despair sometimes.
My point about him being a third division player is that to get out of the third division, you need most of your players to be capable of playing above that level. Flynn isn't.
The defence would like present exhibit A: Sheffield Wednesday.
Case closed.

That's one of your more retarded statements, Olle. By your standards, that's really going some.
See that Messi? Take away his goals and his assists and he does fuck all. Same for Ronaldo. Both bobbins.

Disagree with that completely. If Porter won 99 headers on the trot, he'd get battered for losing the 100th. Never known a player who wins so many headers get so consistently criticised for not winning them.
Many fans make their minds up about a player and refuse to change it whatever happens. Bit like Keith Edwards who hated Kabba so could never give him any credit but loved Webber so could never criticise him.
