Let's face it, fleck has been shite for ages. I love him and during the Wilder years he was probably my favourite of the lot but if we're offering him anything other than £500 a week then we're worse off than I was expecting.

I'd rather have kept Billy just to have in the dressing room.

A midfield with Norwood, Berge, Fleck and Osborn will be the same (minus Lundstram) as the midfield that created nothing between them 2 seasons ago, and managed 1 goal in open play between them.

We’ve got to bring some new blood in here.

Other than that, not too surprising. Sad to see Enda Billy and JOC go but probably the right moves. Happy trails to all of them.

No big shock here really after all the talk. Glad we have acknowledged there will be more said and done about the departures of Sharp, JOC and Stevens.

Biggest surprise is still being in negotiations with Robinson. Thought that would have been a no brainer and easy one to conclude

Well we knew it was coming but I'm still gutted to see the end of Billy in the red and white, head says right decision heart not so much, same for JOC undoubtedly an England centre half without the injury, all the best to all the released lads old and young, onwards and upwards.

hopefully the likes of billy, enda and JOC get the proper send off their contributions deserve in due course.

Given the lack of bodies we have it’s not hugely surprising to see fleck being offered a deal. He needs to improve on the past year or so but would expect him to be a squad player rather than first 11 lock now which I think is probably fine.

We had basically only berge under contract as a midfielder and that was it. We don’t have the funds to buy and entire new starting midfield plus acquire squad depth too.

I guess the issue will be length of contract. If we're offering 1, I assume players will want more.

The structure of the first team squad itself is a cause for worry. Lots of players not good enough for the Championship in that group. Extending Coulibaly's contract is bizarre.

Fleck will be pissing himself that he’s been offered a contract, he was out quite a few weeks ago talking to someone I know and he said he thought he was going to be off because in his words he feels that he isn’t good enough anymore, he was having a laugh about it and said how he’s really enjoyed most of his time here, injuries aside obviously, having known about this for a while I don’t think he’ll be rejecting the offer on the table no matter what it is. A bit surprised Gordon hasn’t been kept on for a while longer, yet we’ve offered contracts to some players that clearly aren’t good enough for the level we’re at. The Coulibaly contract is laughable after Heckys reluctance to play him.

Info.. Take it or leave it... wont reveal my source but they were very certain

Hecky only back from Holiday yesterday

Regards to the retained list... As expected

Fleck, Stevens and Sharp - Gone
Osborn offered new terms but rejected it - can only assume its to do with playing time

The real surprise for me was
O'Connell offered pay as you play to earn a contract

That's all I know - have a great day and UTB

Best you don't listen to the bloke in the Pub and try and pass him off as your source in future......... 🤡 🤡

No surprises there, only that some remained who might have joined those released.

Must tip my flat cap to the special 3. Top class blades who'll always be welcomed at BDTBL. Good luck with the rest of their careers, & carry on smashing records Billy!

The retained list displays obvious gaps in PL quality, which I'm hoping are addressed properly by the club during the summer.

Jake Eastwood 4eva

Nothing against the lad but you have to seriously wonder just how has he remained on the professional staff at United for so long? Clearly at his age he won't be troubling the first team (ever) and had had countless loans some of which have been relatively unspectacular with his lower league clubs.
Honestly I just don't understand how or why he is still with us. Is the son of a Mafia don or something and we don't want to upset his old man?! Is Al Capone is Grandad?

It would be if we didn't offer, (probably) peanuts....

Would be great to see Billy score his 250th against the smelly porkshysters

As for the release list I'd have not offered a new deal to Fleck. I'd keep Ozzy for depth and energy. He faired well against Spurs in the cup.

Glad to see us take the option on Coulibaly as I think he could offer us something different in midfield.

Generally in agreement with the decisions made but I have no idea why has Fleck been offered another contract (and Osborn for that matter). I get that we are light in numbers and we don't have cash to burn but use that money and wages on getting some younger players in. Osborn at a push i can accept as he's a solid 6 out of 10 players and adaptable, Robinson would be handy to have around a d I hope he stays but Fleck.... Hes not been the same player for nearly 2 years now. It was time to let him go. Let's hope heakes the decision for us and goes on to have an enjoyable career in the lower leagues for the twilight of his career (he has been a star for us in years past).

As for King Billy ... All good things have to end sometime and probably right to let him go now but it still stings to see the formal released list with his name on it. Gunna miss the lad and I hope he comes back in some other capacity in the non too distant future. C u soon skip.

Perhaps the Man City game was an eye-opener for PH. Robinson, predictably to some, looked as though he was playing in lead boots and his lack of pace, mobility and quality in possession were very obvious. Admittedly, facing an on-form Mahrez wasn't the easiest audition but it may have showed PH that he isn't good enough to play in the Prem.
