We then have Foxy seeming to claim that they didn't necessarily make allegations of racism and after getting knickers completely in a twist are now saying words to affect of 'it was nothing, move on'.

Knickers in a twist? care to give me a clue on that one? :)

I said that I knew people who gave statements after the match, who happen to sit in the disabled enclosure.

You then decided that these people were my "pals" and had clearly given false statements regarding racial abuse to the police.

Neither of us have the foggiest what those statements contained, or indeed whether they mentioned anything to do with race or not.

If they had given false statements, that is very wrong and should be dealt with by the police.

I'm assuming that given I simply reported fact, in very little detail, that you completely fabricated some other scenario in your head and are therefore as bad as any of these individuals you seem to know made false statements.

I believe a ? in my post indicated that I was asking you if they were mates of yours. Did you read it properly?

Read it again pal - you're making the bit up about pals aren't you?

Question for you - did these people make complaints of a non racial nature to the police? Surely anyone would deduce etc from your mail that the allegations were of racism.

I have no idea, like I said. I'll ask them if I bump into them on Monday and report back to you.

Some of their following status' on Facebook would suggest that they possibly held the opinion of some for of racial tones, but neither of us know that for sure, nor what the allegation was or the validity of it.

If they did make completely false accusations, then I agree with you, it's very wrong. I disagree that it humiliates SUFC and the rest of us though.

Please do. I will be interested to know if they grassed Croft to police merely because he shouted at a 15 year old kid in public etc.

Where's this bit about me saying they were your pals by the way?

Why not just leave it ,the clue is there why the mistake was made ,and lost in translation ,why are you making such a big deal out of it. Is it because we are still unbeaten ? hmmm

Wether or not there was racist abuse the ball boy should be applauded for not stretching croft out .the fat sloppy arse tramp

So let's say that Sheffield United have one or two fans who made a false allegations. Are you saying that having a couple of fans who are not 100% honest is "very humiliating" for SUFC? One or two fans out of of a crowd of 18,000ish

Yep, because the "one or two" who made the allegations are the only ones heard. We've been seen as a bunch of mardy moaning fuckers ever since the embarassing Tevez melt down, last thing we need is even more reason to make our club look like it's followed by nowt but a bunch of soft twats.

Pity that Leeds fan wasn't there, he could have ran on the pitch and chinned the fat prick :fattwat:

On the other hand, had Croft REALLY said "black cunt" (see Swiss's example) shouldn't they be applauded for coming forward instead of allowing it to slide?

Have we really reached the point where we are worried about how SUFC are perceived by outsiders? I mean, really, who cares whether people think we are moaners or whatever?

No one other than SYP and those making statements know what was alleged. I It is indeed despicable if false allegations were made.

They are all over twitter demanding unreserved apologies apologies from Blades fans to Croft, and right through to wanting the ball boy sacked and/or charged with "slander".

It's as if he was totally justified in abusing a young lad, as long as it wasn't racist.

They seem to have sorted it amicably, so that should be the end of it, other than the quest to make us look bad.
Someone`s always trying to make us look bad. Oldham fans do not bother me, so few in number and so insignificant are they.:D:rolleyes:

I totally agree Super but there is to me a very serious issue here along the lines of some Blades making what I believe were completely unfounded allegations of racist abuse against a player who's team just happened to score a late equaliser and who just happened to upset people (not me apart from the goal) because they had a go at us and didn't roll over.

Darren's posts are way to clever for me but he seems to be suggesting it is perfectly OK to go around making these types of allegations when it is nearly impossible to believe they actually heard what Croft said.

We then have Foxy seeming to claim that they didn't necessarily make allegations of racism and after getting knickers completely in a twist are now saying words to affect of 'it was nothing, move on'.
Croft had a go at a child. He deserves censure.

On the other hand, had Croft REALLY said "black cunt" (see Swiss's example) shouldn't they be applauded for coming forward instead of allowing it to slide?

Indeed they should, (sorry I tend not to read Swiss's posts, a bit too whiny for me so can't quote his example) but it appears that he (Croft) didn't say that so once again, we look like a bunch of mardy arses.

Oh and Axel yes that does bother me, we used to have a good reputation as a team that were hard and fair, now we're soft and constantly moaning. Embarassing to be honest, we're in danger of sounding like the Scum.

It never appeared to me to be anything more than a pro footballer being very aggressive to a young lad.

If i'd have stuck my head so close to a young person in the crowd I would expect to get arrested.

If not why not??

But if those people genuinely thought they heard racist abuse? Weren't they right to then report it? Just because they misheard... does that make them whiny?

For fucks sake, how many more times, IF THEY THOUGHT THEY HEARD THAT THEN YES THEY SHOULD BE APPLAUDED, happy now???? The fact that they misheard it shows that they were either:
a) Hard of hearing
b) Looking for mischief
c) Whiny fuckers

Is that a little more clear?

d) In a loud stadium full of people.

I think this racism bullshit is getting out of hand in the game generally now FFS we even have a referee accused of using racist words this morning, today the game has sunk to new depths.

Agreed.

Its seems too much of a coincidence that all of a sudden (since Suarez and Terry) we have racism being reported left right and centre.

Personally I don't think that the English game is inherently racist, however I do think its childish, the whole game needs to grow up and it needs the players to start sorting themselves out.

I find it ridiculous that grown men are running around calling each other names and then pissing and whinging when they get it back (case in point Terry/ Cole v Ferdinand). But players also need to realise that in this day and age you just don't use racist language

Now we have the Ferdinand brothers and acting as the spokespersons for anti racism. Their only qualifications seem to be that they are indeed black. Rio himself has been charged by the FA for tweeting comments about Ashley Cole and he doesn't exactly have a great record for being the most intelligent of players. Leave it to the PFA to speak out about these things. Clarke Carlisle, the PFA representative is probably one of the more intelligent players and has played in almost all of the divisions. Its irrelevant whether he is black or white, he's the appointed player representative, if the players feel that there is an issue they should direct it through him, surely.

As for the players refusing to wear the Kick it out T shirts because of what they think about the impact of the group, the group itself runs on 300k a year, perhaps Ferdinand et al should put a weeks wages into the campaign rather than wearing T shirts. Afteral its the players who have the problems with racism, so put the money in, do something about it and stop whinging

Blimey, are you suggesting that players should leave theings to their union rep?
:-)

:)

I know! Crazy isn't it given my attitude to Unions, but surely players shouldn't be just shouting their mouths off to the media. Its the lesser of two evils for me :)

I would have thought, given your general uber-indivdualist views, that you would have gone to the stake defending players' right to say what they like to the media....

The ( most likely potential) victims of racism should fund the campaign to stop racism?

The problem I see is that they make things worse. What appeared (and there is no real evidence as far as I can see, to state otherwise) to be two isolated incidents have been blown up into a huge racist scandal in football. If the Ferdinand’s thought there was such a big issue, then why not speak up sooner in an intelligent way or better still put their money up to support the cause rather than just criticising it? Instead they wait until Jason Roberts decides not to wear a T-Shirt and then pipe up...

I’ve no doubt that Kick it out could do more, but I think the players need to be more aware of the consequences of their actions. You have to question the intelligence of some of the players when they make comments or take actions which do more harm than good.

I think Clarke Carlisle is the perfect man to be the spokesperson for the players.

The ( most likely potential) victims of racism should fund the campaign to stop racism?

Thats a good point Rodders, but aren’t all footballers potential victims of racism, discrimination and abuse? Not just the black ones? Why do we need to focus on Racism when there are other types of abuse or discrimination that people get.

I focused on Ferdinand and Ferdinand because they were the ones making the issue and criticising I’m sure other players should be dipping their hands into their deep pockets to help.
