Great to see Burnley hammered ...

Gotta say I don't really understand why any Blade would be happy to see them get hammered. It's not like their position isn't justified, they're all but promoted and there's no real consequence here. To be honest bigger and better teams have gone up against the new age City and had just as big of a battering, can't say there's any shame in it.

I guess the only negative for them could be that they have just had a glimpse of what they're up against next season and that could knock their confidence. They're so far ahead of us points wise I don't even consider catching them I'm more concerned about the teams below us rather than the one above us.

If we do a double over them though this season that would be incredible for the players confidence
My point Flumps was simple. If tonight's result dented Burnley's confidence and helped us when we played them at Turf Moor, that would be great. If it helped us win at Turf Moor, tonight would be a help. What do you not understandabout that?

I dare say we'll be shattered for the trip to Middlesbrough where we'll get a tubbing. But we'll recover to get the win against you back at t'Turf.

Be careful what you wish for!
OP is being a bit of a dick

That's all I'm hoping for Flumps ... that tonight's thrashing undermines Burnley's confidence and impacts them when we play them at Turf Moor ... and do that incredible double 😁

Lol, alright don't get out your pram over it.

I should think confidence would have taken a knock if it was, I dunno, Hartlepool that beat them 6-0 but it's Man City, what you gonna do, its hardly an unexpected scoreline. They'll be fine.

Personally wanted to see a turn-up, guaranteed to get Man City if we win tomorrow and I assume that means Doyle & Mcatee will be cup-tied, which would be desperate for both on a personal level

No shame for a Championship club losing 6 nil at City.
They are in a different class. World class.

I find the OP strange…… I mean why the hell would we revel in them losing… it’s gonna have no impact when we play them, their Champ form is excellent and they’ve Shown without a doubt why they’re the best in the league.

We need them to continue to win…especially the teams they play before us.

As Howard Kendal once said 'anyone at Wembley' ....they may be trouncing burnley 6 nil at their place but us at our 2nd home Wembley is a different task 💪💪

Im thinking 12 nil ??🤔

If we play that Man City side next round, on the huge Wembley pitch, with Doyle and McAtee cup-tied it might be double figures.

Bit pointless if it also impacts on there performance against Boro then ?

Loving watching Burnley getting a hammering at the Ethiad ... it might dent their cocky, championship confidence; and we Blades should fear nothing from our upcoming trip to Turf Moor ...

Errr I’d much rather Burnley beat city

If we draw City it’s just a day out really and not much else

Also if it’s 6-0 bs Burnley I’d dread to think what it’s be at Wembley on a bigger pitch

Only highlights the scary gulf in quality.

Burnley have been by far and away the best and most consistent team in the Championship this season.

Man City aren’t even top of the Premier League.
Fear for Blades when we go up in fact could go as far to say I’m shitting myself 💩

Thought Burnley did well for a period and (maybe stupidly) played how they wanted to play. I wanted them to have a go at City and they did as best as they could, pity they didn't take their chances faster. But against a world class team and unstoppable striker they had no chance.

Worrying though. I was hoping Burnley might have a chance 🤣🤣🤣. They've scored 14 goals this week, and according to the press, Haaland has scored 15 of them.

IF, we get through today, let's hope someone else takes them on 🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
