60's icons - how many can you name?
Don’t even know who they played for 😳

People whinge about Billy being old, Jimmy Johnstone looks fucking ancient.

(he was only 31 in the pic too!)
Different times, different characters and I believe Billy's never done ? bottles of whisky a day.
Sad, on good money, abundance of talent, adored by the Gers fans, what happened?
Whatever, he was only 61 when he died of MND, read WIKI, interesting, with one rather surprising fact on the honours in his name.

Bottom one Ray McHale ? I’m assuming celebrating Bob Atkins winner at Millmoor in 84 promotion season
Yes it’s RM

I was stood in the railway end that day - remember the wall collapsing at the Tivoli end - same happened v Sheff W few weeks earlier I seem to remember.

Great finish by Bob - too late for the Millers to respond

I was also at the Railway End , think the wall collapse Bell4 was the game there in 81 ? This one was April 84 , yen an absolute peach by Atkin

Easter Saturday 1984. Red hot day, pitch was like a dustbowl.

Blades in opposite stand to where I was sat had a banner ' Edwards of Nazareth'.
Great day thought we’d dropped points until Atkins last minute peach … queue delirious scenes .. my previous visit in 81 we lost 2-1 when Bob Hatton scored was my first away game ⚔️

Rovrum was my first away game, but 1979 when the wall fell down. Won 2-1, Barry Butlin and Jeff Bourne scored.

I refuse to speak about my 2nd away game 🤢

yeah we were on the tivoli that day and were still in there when the wall collapsed 1 down then jeff bourne pen and barry butlins far post header at the tivoli end to win it for us apparently pigs took hammers with em the week after to batter the other wall down

Possibly been shown on this thread before but I’ve been sent this photo but can’t place the occasion or the date other than the eighties?
