Anel

Tv showed him pulling the shirt of a player possibly getting away from him, so a yellow wasn't surprising. He's got tremendous ability, but he's a bit daft sometimes.
Then a silly handball 2nd half that could have led to a 2nd booking if Stroud had spotted it. Like you say, he doesn’t play with his brain sometimes.

Think we all forget he's relatively young and playing his first proper season in England. The Championship is relentless and he will be a much better player for this season

He is banned for two games currently, what would have happened had he got two yellows today? 1 match ban back to 9 yellows or 3 match ban?

He’s young and first full season in the championship plus’s he’s had a debilitating illness. Still a lot to learn but he’s a superb footballer, brilliant attitude and seems like a really nice lad. I hope we get to see him for many years. I doubt it as I think he will go to a top side eventually.

Just about every fan forgets how relentless the Championship is. It’s like we have goldfish memories despite us spending more years in this bloody league than any other.

He's still young as someone said earlier but he really needs to cut the shirt tugging and clumsy fouls out. Less than half of those 10 yellow cards were 'good' yellow cards. Mostly stupid. Now we miss him for two big league games. I'd much rather he missed Spurs.

It's a shame Anel is suspended, but whilst Sir Christopher of Basham may not be quite the player he was, I doubt he will let us down when it really matters, or we could even try sticking Clarke at RCB.

We'll be reyt.

We've tried Clarke at RCB... it did not work out well lol

Let's not write it off due to an earlier failure. The coaching staff have had time to work on things since then.

I do think/hope we’ll be fine but the “Bash won’t let us down” line went well and truly out the window after Millwall away.

Thing is if we have to play him it is in his substantive position. He has been a complete bombscare when chucked in anywhere on the left. Needs must!

Bash is so bad ow that he also frags Egan down to his level

As I said, he's not what he was, but he will put in a shift and isn't completely done yet.

You said he won’t let us down when it really matters, and for as much as I love Bash, he did against Millwall. That’s my point. It’s not really in his gift anymore. I’m not debating for one second he won’t put in a shift.

I said both things, but fair enough 👍

Basham still has a good game in him. This is important as he will probably start the next two games in Anels absence.
I was about to start a thread about Basham and his influence, on and off field. Barring injury he will not let us down. His off field presence as a senior pro is also key to the excellent dressing room.
He deserves this chance. I wrote Fleck off earlier and his contribution and experience made a difference against Watford. I’m sure Basham will do the same!

"He won't let us down" .. not sure that's correct.

He has been making at least 1 or 2 mistakes leading to high probability goal scoring chances in last dozen games he's been involved in.

He'll give his all but that doesn't equate to not letting us down...

I’m sticking a fiver on him to score in first 10 mins on Wed. I quite like the idea of a fired up Anel in his first game against Prem opposition

I've every faith in Bash, couple of guaranteed starts, a few weeks of training knowing he's the starter.

He’s played against PL opposition before, in the Champions League for Malmo.

We are a top side William ...
