Looks like hes going to Coventry ,that will fill the Ricoh up .

If he goes in there as a caretaker boss, Coventry will drive up the table. If he's got a permanent deal, expect Coventry to spend spend spend money they don't have on rubbish.

They must of heard the non-sense he was talking on the radio and thought yes he is the man for us.

I am surprised Blackwell hasn't found a job before now. He might have created a dull and boring Blades team, but they were effective and reached the play off final despite selling players throughout that season. He should have quit after the defeat to Burnley, you could argue it was harsh to be booted after three matches in the season we went down. Either he should have gone before the season, or given more of a chance.

Think he will do a good job for Coventry. Glad we have Danny in charge though. Better manager for us in these circumstances.

Coventry x Ricoh x Blackwell = Fuckin Boring, glad that one is out the way

Sean Dyche would be a good appointment for them, he did well with Watford and it was a little unfair the way he was shown the door.

Blackwell wouldn't surprise me, they are banding around McCallister, Wise, Adams, Blackwell, Dyche. Most of those former managers, some reasonable choices in there but some shockers too.

They're all shockers! Especially numbers 3 & 4!

Its hard to believe Blackwell gets slaughtered for finishing in the top 8 of the championship with 66 points 80 points and po final and 65 points in an injury ravaged season, what wed give for that now

he gets results, which if Im not wrong is what his job entailed, aesthetics of the fare offered are secondary

Arsenal under Graham were dull, but who cared when they got their hands on the prize
Pigs went up being methodical and functional, do they care , not a jot

So it's all about the win? No matter what?

allardyce houghton lambert

all 3 got promoted playing that way

Ha ha its funny where people turn up. Long gone are the days where we played football that, whilst it got results and got us to a 3rd place finish in the championship, followed by PO defeat, it achieved nothing. He relied on loanees and expensive signings.

Fortunately those dark days are behind us and we've moved on as a club, whilst playing decent football. Nobody can now deny that we get results and play football. We no longer rely on those wretched loanees and expensive money grabbers. We fill our side with kids from the academy and players that want to play football. Hell we even refuse to play the remaining top earners at the club. Its onwards and upwards for us now, we haven't looked back since we sacked him. Darn him for that Play off defeat we should've sacked him sooner...

And now Blackwell, out of work since, suddenly looks to be turning up in the 3rd tier of English football. He's clearly found his level after such an awful time getting us to 8th and 3rd in the Championship. Serves him right. He can play his dastardly football in the depths of the 3rd tier.

We, however... oh... shite.... Theres a chance that he could turn Coventry around and end up above us.

Damn you McCabe... We were supposed to do better once we got rid of evil Blackwell...

When Blackwell came to the lane we went on a great run and played some good stuff from no where to the play offs. After that it went all down hill. I do think Blackwell was on a hiding to nothing after we started selling the quality in the side all the replacements were inferior not sure if that was down to him or the finances as usual.

Blackwell was a motivator and I always thought it was odd timing to sack him.

That said he was never going to be the long term solution and he steadied a ship. Problem was it was difficult to then change direction (which I think Speed tried to start doing) and we've headed downwards ever since.

We've eventually ended up (by luck or good judgement) with a manager who has the right ideas, we just need to allow him time to bring us back. Last season was our best chance, so now its perhaps time for graft and some football... time will tell if it works

Trouble is, Blackwell could well be the man to upset our plans, because he might just manage to get the Coventry team motivated like he did with our players after Robson

No they didn't. Each of them, even the loathsome Allardyce, played far better football than the former semi-pro, non-league, reserve goalie. Are you seriously suggesting that Paul Lambert's Norwich hoofed their way to the PL?

Semi-Pro was not sacked a moment too soon. He was alienating thousands of fans with his increasingly shambolic anti-football. He talked Arsenal but played Dinosaur. We are well rid of him. I can't believe any chairman would be mad enough to employ this clueless clown. One only had to listen to his recent "expert" summaries on RS to eliminate any doubt.

Were you at Doncaster when Blackwell looked at the Travelling Blades and shrugged his shoulders ?

He aint got a fuckin clue ...... but time will tell

Thankfully Coventry haven't got the likes of James Beattie, Gregg Halford, Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton, Gary Naysmith etc.

However, he isn't as bad as people make out so they could potentially be challengers.

You're convienently forgetting that during that period he had a £15-20 million wage bill nearly 3 times more than most of the teams in the division.
Blackwell fucked up big time, and is just as culpable for wasting our money and our current situation as Robson.

Precisely. Who can forget his legendary nonsense interviews:

After a 3-0 rout at Blackpool when we were played off the park: "We were the better team in the first half..."

After a run of defeats, asked what he was going to do about it: "keep working hard and hope for the luck of the bounce..."

He was the architect of the obscene contracts given to Montgomery, Morgan, Cresswell and Quinn, that are now millstones around our club's neck. He had no comprehension at all of proper football - ask Stephen Quinn!

Football can manage very well without idiots such as Semi-pro. We should throw rotten fruit at him if he ever returns to the Lane.

I had to laugh(and swear) when Blackwell was piping on about CUNTon Morrison being played upfront on his own and being isolated and ineffective. I wonder if he saw that when he was at Wembley or even the Burnley game just before the end of the season????

The only man who's ever managed to make me seriously consider not going to the Lane. Worst football in my 20 odd years, and that includes the Adrian Heath & Micky Adams debacles.

Thing is, when he first came in we were decent to watch then it went drastically downhill.
