Got his club promoted though didn't he? And McCabe is doing what right now? The "Football" part of the club is being ripped apart, and there is no such thing as a "Sheffield United Club" so hang on to your replica kits folks, they could become collectors items.
If memory serves me right
- It took them two seasons in League 1, we're in our second season now.
- They didn't do it on the cheap, but they also had no debt because Mandy got a right deal when he bought the club.

Do you know who Clay X is ?

What has that got to do with it.Do you know who I am ? Plenty on here know people in certain positions at the club and get information that they wouldn't dream of posting on here.We have to reduce the wage bill from the end of last season? Most of us know that already and it would have been more relevant if you would have posted this after the play off final.

Do you agree that the wage bill as of now does not have to be reduced by £5million or are you going to continue trolling both forums ?

calm down dear ...................

Clay X says :

BTW, the budget DW has been asked to "attain" is exactly the same as Southend United!!

Everyone goes on about Mandaric underwriting Wednesdays dealing last season etc which is fine, and asking for McCabe to do the same now. That however is not possible. Why? Well the new wage restrictions in place in League One from this season. All clubs in League One cannot have a wage bill any higher than 60-65%, not sure on the exact figure, of the clubs turnover. So even if McCabe wanted to fund the wages of a couple of big signings, under the League rules, this would not be allowed. I heard on the gravevine that last years wage bill was 110% of our turnover

We HAVE to cut the wage bill, not only for the club, but to comply with League rules.

And? If memory serves me right McCabe's been here a lot longer than 2 years and we had one success in all that time. Lots of disappointment, lots of debt so let's not start a pissing contest between the virtues of 2 very rich men.

This is priceless....refusing to answer questions and then hiding behind other people's posts. You are right,we have to 'attain' the same figure as every other club in the division i.e. a percentage of turnover. No club's £ amount target for a wage bill will be the same as turnovers will be different at every club.

So will you now answer my question i asked you in the previous post ? Probably not.

Yawn,BB...spouting the same old rubbish as normal. But here is a challenge for you...explain in detail why transferring the freehold would lead us to administration when KM has just protected his losses with the land. Who else do we owe money to other than KM? Tell us all some facts for a change instead of using rumours and soundbites from other people's post just to stir things up

Whats the question ?

I know who you are and I hereby claim my free pint!

It's just being sensible most have had to do it. Bitter pill, but the players to go Monty, Cresswell, Quinn theres only Quinn we're really gone miss, Cressy has done us proud with how he's given his all but has been replaced with Blackman, Cofie and Miller. Monty not featured much for 2 years nearly now. If they can go thats a major chunk of wages of the books

If you look back it was actually yourself that made the statement that Mandy got them promoted from this division. So I was just commenting on what you wrote.

Do you know who Clay X is ?

Isn't he the bloke who phones P&G quite a bit, a sort of wannabe Brian which must be one of the most tragic descriptions possible. Also known for posting a whole heap of transfer shit on BladesMad, so I'd generally find this blokes patter as trustworthy as a pikey tarmacer.

So we had a wage bill of 9 mill and it has to be 5 mill and we have reduced it already by 80k per week. So basically this has already been achieved? Also if we were about to go bust or had to drastically reduce the wage bill how the hell are we paying for KMac?

Well then go straight to the top of the class, you're a very clever boy. But wait, in actuality I was replying to a post that Foxy put on so in essence you interrupted my conversation with him. How rude.

Wasting your time Soton, the usual culprits who never have a good word to say about The Blades will just ignore the facts as usual and carry on putting the club down regardless.

The wage bill was 9million last year. We are not too far off getting it down to 4million. Problem is to do that we have to ditch 2 from 3 of Quinn, Cresswell or Monty. If we don't then Harry will be at risk.

Before anyone says that it's £9m as today........ £9million is around £173k per week which means we would could have 20 players averaging £8600

Unless McCabe has given himself a playing contract and fleecing himself I don't see where the 9million is

SE10,

May I ask how you've got to a reduction of £80k/week already from the wage bill?

Cheers

I'll guess at the following amounts removed thus far:

Ched - 20k
Willo - 10k
Beattie - 10k
Simmo - 10k
Ertl - 5k
Lowton 5k
Taylor 5k
Others - 2k

There's also the question as to whether Morgs has had a wage cut, which you'd imagine he has, and if so I'd say that's a good 10k off.

I think some of those above will be low, and some high, so they're definitely approximate estimates, but it still comes to 77k.

The problem is that no one really knows what wages the players are on especially the bonuses. However, between Morgan,Evans,Williamson,Simmo,Ertl and Taylor,I wouldn't be surprised if that was at least £50k per week. Then we released BT,O'Hallorhan,Hill plus a few others so I don't think the £80k figure will be far off in my opinion. Porter, KMac and Hill will all be on lower wages than last season on lower wages

I thought footballers were like contractors who were responsible for their own NI and other tax?

Depends on the footballer i guess, though i would think that the Inland Revenue would take a dim view of the footballers on Long Term contracts being employed as contractors.

Pretty sure when John Arne Riise's pay slips got leaked he was on regular PAYE
