The post from Clayx:

Last season`s wage bill was £9million, DW has been told to reduce it to £4 million!!

We all know the big earners and its odds on they will be gone very shortly, however there is a 2nd tier of players earning 10k ish, the likes of doyle & collins that are also being lined up to go as well!!
They will not be replaced on a like for like either, it will be loans and kids coming in instead

no way will i reveal my source, but rest assured its 100% correct

Have the Blades got serious financial problems? I hope transfering the freehold wasn't paving the way for administration !

Don't know if this is a wind up, but for the high earners to go, there has to be interest in them from clubs that are willing to take on their wages. Danny Wilson continues to deny any real interest in our players, so aren't we stuck with them anyway?

Are we actually trying to get relegated or something?

Anyone know what the Pigs' wage bill was last season? I heard from one of their fans that they had a wage limit of £5k per week but no idea if true.

Very unlikely, have a look at what they spent on agents fees

It's a bit depressing that the reason Collins and Doyle are on so much money is not because of their quality, but because of how difficult it was to get people to join our sinking ship in the first place.

Well if that's what we have to do, that's what we have to do.

We have to live within our means and if that means further cuts, then so be it.

Just hope we're not going to rely on loans again as that'll cost us a fortune

It was pretty much the same as ours overall.

Which makes McCabe insisting that we cut our wage bill by 50% even worse (if true). McCabe's fortune is around 3 or 4 times that of Mandy so if Mandy can support that level of wages surely McCabe can.

The difference is, our bills weren't written off by the co-op bank.

Mandy supports nothing other than himself.

Wage bill at BDTBL needs to be cut by another £5million.

 Tell us summat we didn't already know BB  If we manage to move on 2 of Cresswell, Monty and Quinn (hopefully the 1st 2) then job done, otherwise then yes the next highest earners like Doyle and Collins will be at risk of being sold. Not a good situation but one that most fans know about, I don't see what another thread on the same subject will achieve. We will know for sure in around 12 days time anyways.

Are you really saying the wage bill at this moment in time is £9m and that we have to shave £5m from that in the next week ???

I don't think so............ but if it is we are in a worse state than anyone could ever have imagined.

Do you know ClayX Blade Metal ?

Not in the next week, but if by some miracle other clubs were willing to match the wages of our top earners, it would be cheerio amigos.

Mandy supports nothing other than himself.

Got his club promoted though didn't he? And McCabe is doing what right now? The "Football" part of the club is being ripped apart, and there is no such thing as a "Sheffield United Club" so hang on to your replica kits folks, they could become collectors items.

As you do on both boards BB you try and make a sensation just to get attention and don't read posts properly. The wage bill at the end of last season was £9million.... this was even stated on Radio Sheffield at the end of last season so no surprise.

Since them we released players on high wages such as Williamson,Simmonson,Evans,Taylor,Ertl and so on.Let's just say between them all 11 players that were released were on a combined total of £80k per week(a figure told to me by a journalist),this means that we have to cut a further £1million off the wae bill...mmm,i wonder what Cresswell,Quinn and Monty are on between them?

Clayx hasn't actually told us anything we didn't already know

"Wages last season were £9M, this season needs to be £4M."

So in that cut are the likes of Ched, Simmo etc. Ched alone will have will saved a decent amount.

If it was £9m last year and it needs to be £4m, then it isn't another £5m is it? We've lost Ched, the loans, Williamson, Simmo, etc etc etc. OK, we've added some at much lower rates and I'm sure someone can work it out but we will have already made a big dent in that.

I don't know if the numbers mentioned are near to the truth, but the fact is we can't afford to pay anyone 10k pw in League 1, that won't be a surprise to anyone.

Yawn,BB...spouting the same old rubbish as normal. But here is a challenge for you...explain in detail why transferring the freehold would lead us to administration when KM has just protected his losses with the land. Who else do we owe money to other than KM? Tell us all some facts for a change instead of using rumours and soundbites from other people's post just to stir things up

I thought we were being taken over BB? ;)
