Ndiaye injury?

Which I'm sure will be hugely enlightening. He's always so honest and transparent. 'Could be back for Hull ' may mean this season or 24/25 season.
Hecky’s interviews are so shit. Used to love listening to him as well. Shares hardly anything. I get he doesn’t want to give stuff away to the opposition but supporters like to know stuff, hence the obligatory interviews. It’s like talking to a club official about where we’re going pre-season or shop staff about when the new shirts out. All very “I know but you can’t know yet“. United my arse.

Looked like a knee problem to me. He was prodding and poking his meniscus, where the bottom of the knee meets the shin.

Hopefully just a jarred knee and nothing more!🫣
Hope this is not the football Gods waking from their slumber.

To have Ndiaye, McBurnie and Brewster all out at once would be some going even for them. We must be good. It only took an injury to Coutts to screw us last time over. In fact you go down United's squad list right now and 6 of the first 9 are injured!

Personally I'd go with this:

---------------------Wes-------------------------
------Anal---------Egan----------Robbo-----
Bogle--------------------------------------Lowe
------------Norwood----Doyle----------------
-------Berge---------------------McAtee------
----------------------Sharp------------------------

It helps to have a change on the bench plus I think McAtee would be thrive in this role. Jebbo to start vs Wrexham.

If no returnees then it feels like we are scratching around again with the subs. If only Khadra had given himself another week! Counting 11 unavailable with Osula suspended/not wanted to limit his movement. I wouldn't be against putting Marsh on the bench as a reward for being top scorer with the U21s.

Subs: Davies, Basham, Osborn, Coulibaly, Brookes, Marsh, Jebbison

Will supporters please calm down a bit! At least 7 or 8 of the likely starters will be first team number one choices anyway.
The others are more than capable deputies.
May be a good time to give Ndiaye a rest anyway, and it puts a doubt in the minds of any clubs circling for his signature.
Sometimes we can worry too much. Always look on the bright side. Jebbo and players on the bench could all get some much needed match fitness minutes.

Looked absolutely fine after the game. on the the Behind The Blades video. No limp or anything so fingers crossed
Good to hear that.. I suspect PH is delighted that threads like this give him more ammunition to fire misleading conjecture at opposition managers.

Agree, he does take the white lies, vagueness and secrecy to the extreme.
Hecky demeanour reminds me of Nigel Clough, he's always bland, non emotional answering questions with a straight bat.
Although Hecky does appear more likeable/ down to earth where as Clough had a hint of sarcasm/ superiority about him.

Some could argue Hecky's vagueness is actually a strength
because he's professional, non confrontational, keeps a steady ship never risking saying anything controversial.

Totally different to the Wilder interviews who was very open, quite emotional, sometimes wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Used to love listening to Wilder as his honesty in his pre and post match interviews were so refreshing.

Take the Stoke match on Saturday.
0-30 mins We were excellent, far superior to Stoke, we looked a promotion side.
30-45 mins Took our foot of the gas but were still OK and slightly the better side
45-90 mins We parked the bus hanging on to our lead, totally lost midfield, lost any composure on the ball but defended really well.

In the post match interview Wilder would have recognised and acknowledged this, saying how we need to manage out the game better with better possession in midfield.
However Hecky's interviews never reveal anything, it's similar comments every match, no matter how we play.

So many medical experts on this thread, most of them would struggle to take 2 aspirin without their mothers help.

I remember a few weeks back (just before the World Cup) Hecky making a point regards Doyle's fitness that if we were desperate we could play him
but he'd prefer to give him plenty of time to rest and recuperate so he reaches 100% fitness.
Doyle still didn't play, even after the league re-started after the World Cup.

I get the impression that may of our players are constantly 80 to 90% fit.
So you could play them risking a below par performance or risk further injury.

I'm sure McBurnie made a point that for several months (maybe a year) he was playing for us and was never 100% fit.
He says his recent upturn in form was down to extra strength and fitness training and finally being 100% fit.

This might explain why many of our players are close to fitness or appear to be fit but still not playing.

He was walking around with an ice pack strapped to the same leg after the final Senegal match and he was begging to comeback into training 2 days later. Hopefully it's a similar thing, just precautionary. 🤞

Blame the interviewers. The same lame, pointless questions get asked ad nauseum. No manager in their right mind is going to announce his team in a press conference. Nor give accurate updates on injury recoveries. That bit should be dropped from the interview altogether or replaced with a more general question about selection. I absolutely DO NOT want our manager giving our team out to our opponents in advance. I'd much prefer that he tells a bare faced lie. These interviews are missed opportunities to ask innumerable questions about football or Sheffield United. Same shit, different week is their fault. "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies" springs to mind re responses to injury questions. Let's say Ndiaye is out now (hopefully not). Would you tell every club we face that he's out? Would you tell every club that is selling/loaning out a player that so they can bump the price up knowing we are more desperate? If the answer to either question is yes you haven't thought it through.

Give him a rest.
Ndiaye is one of those rare breed that just seems to love playing football, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he's not asking Heckingbottom if he can play in the under 21's. He also seems to have strengthened up from last season when he was going off with cramp alot.

Problem we have is that he and probably Norwood, are the two players we have the biggest drop off in quality in their replacements.

Every other position we have understudies or competition where there isn't a massive gulf between them.

Ndiaye and Norwood are just way ahead of anything else we have in those positions and what they can do for the team.

Don’t we want him to be a good manager and not necessarily a good interviewee ?

Could they bring Boldock back at right back and try to replace Ndiaye with Bogle

Even Ahmedhodzic says it was right to rest him in the FA cup game!
The next fixture is against Hull ffs, not Man City.

Rest him drop him or cause consternation for clubs who might bid for him?

Unbeaten in 6 are Hull

I'm hoping for a pushover, but somehow I think this might be tougher than some are expecting?

The worry for me is that it seemed more of an awkward knee ligament type injury from him turning as opposed to an impact injury.

Might be way off though with that assumption

I wonder how many teams are playing with players who aren't 100% fit. The clubs with smaller/weaker squads are probably doing this week in week out. Watford have had more injuries than us.

The quality of the questioning is so poor.
Now that Hecky has said publicly that he's not going to predict who might have recovered from injury , or give hints as to his lineup , there's no point raising those issues.

He seemed fine at full time on Saturday, but after seeing our medical team it was discovered that he'd be out until Christmas with a broken water bottle

Hecky saying today that we need another striker to maintain the balance of the squad. Surely the board see the cost benefit of that statement.
I see the cost benefit of that statement so if I had a spare £1m down the couch for a loan to help out United I'd do it... but I don't.

I suspect the current board have the exact same issue.

I pity the players listening to his "inspirational" team talks. He might be on the touchline at every game but watches a different one.

Would like both
but of course a good manager is, by far the most important.

You only need to look at Nigel Atkins, brilliant speaker, always smiles and says the right things, so positive and upbeat
BUT he was eventually found out to be an imposter. He was still trying to smile away being positive in the match before he was sacked.

I see Hecky in a similar light to Gareth Southgate.
In some ways really good, quite bland but a calming influence with zero controversy and always seems to get good results, even when we don't play well
however I'm not always sure about his team selections or substitutions and his comments always seem vague and don't tell us much, they never explain his decisions.

Note: I'm not anti Hecky or anti Southgate. You can't argue with their records.
