His name is Nick…

It took Chris Wilder 15 years of managing to end up with us. Similar to Nick, he got into managing as soon as he retired (Nick started as Assistant Manager in 2018).

So i'm gonna call it now... Monty: Sheffield United manager 2033

(Of course we would've just been relegated from the Tik Tok PL that season, after being promoted from the PL2 at the expense of Saudi-backed Hartlepool in 2030)

Always said he would end up managing us one day, hope to god he's better at managing than passing a football now.

Nick Montgomery always gave 100%, even though his skill level was lacking at times, but perhaps we could be looking at a future Blades manager.

He'd like the job!

Great news for Monty ,top pro top blade top individual .even if he was from dirty Leeds 😆.

I vaguely remember a home game against Birmingham where he scored the first in a 4-0 win. Always thought that was his debut.
Think Browny scored a stunner in that game too.

Like I said....vaguely remember 🤣

Aye, Brown scored an early prototype of the volley he'd later score against Ipswich in the Cup and, of course, Wednesday at the Lane.

If memory serves, Peschi scored a brace that game too, leading us to joke that he'd be sleeping in the box room that night as his wife was on the Birmingham's board.

Very good managers come from average players - what these ex-players have is an ability to know the game but have this hidden talent that comes through by listening/learning from others around them during their playing years and then using it to great effect on the training pitch.

Chris Wilder was one and there are numerous others. The profession is littered with very good players who are bloody useless at managing/coaching - Bryan Robson/Nigel Spackman ring any bells and I am sure Blades fans can name their own failures.

We should wish him all the best - there's no reason not to.

UTB
Bloody useless at managing- Nigel Spackman, don't know what planet you were on when he managed us but we were terrific under his time in charge.

do we think we will see Nick Montgomery managing here soon. looks like he did a brilliant job at central coast Mariners last season finished 5th in the table despite apparently the lowest budget. highly regarded as coaching players better as he brought the most players through the academy in a league & made Australian FA cup final

Blades/ex get the best out of us

Would be very surprised if he doesn't end up managing us, we have a habit of former players managing us and he fits the bill perfectly.

(Also thought the same about Morgan but he seems content coaching now/hasn't had the experience Monty has, I don't count those awful caretaker manager times)

What's tik tok

I think he is nailed on to manage us one day, but let hope it's a few year's away yet. That would mean Paul is doing just fine at the moment UTB FTP

It’s a Visterbile Amphetamoid. From Prague. It can have serious effects on the area within your brain that defines time perception, known as Shatner’s Bassoon.

Kid I knew took it, he was killed crossing a railway because he thought he had a week to cross.

My cousin in Oz sent me this.
It's probably the original article pinched by Hemmingham!

Has he ever actually said he wants to leave Oz? Pretty sure he's got at least one business there and you'd imagine he's pretty settled by now

I think he’d be tempted by a PL club salary, possibly even a championship one. I watched the highlights of CCM v Adelaide and there were as many empty seats as the Sty. I don’t think proper football is a big revenue generator over there.
Adelaide are managed by Carl Veart, so it was a kind of ex-Blade derby.
