It’s fucking tedious. I come on here to discuss football with like minded people. I don’t expect everyone to share my opinion but I do hope to have a discussion with people who actually know about football. Every fucking club in the history of football has transfers that don’t work out, it’s part of football, it happens. I can’t stand this “give him a chance” shit, no one gets given owt in football, they have to earn it, it’s not fucking school sports day.
:
I read some posters’ posts and I think “either you literally know fuck all or you’re knowingly posting shit to wind people up or further an agenda” and I just can’t even be bothered to engage with them. It’s like going on Mumsnet and seeing posts like “can I feed a baby with my tits?” Or going on a mechanic’s forum and someone’s banging on about changing the spark plugs in their diesel engine.
People seem to need to go through the motions of being angry about anything they can, and when there is nothing to be angry about they make something up. Sometimes you just lose a game, sometimes a transfer doesn't work out, sometimes a player gets injured. Sometimes you aren't promoted by Christmas. Every negative doesn't need repercussions.

Had a rare listen to radio Sheffield in the car on Saturday and was laughing out loud at some nobhead Rotherham fan they had on furious about some player who'd been out injured for 2 months not starting - "if he's fit enough to be a sub, he's fit enough to start"....what does that even mean? Went on to tell the presenter they were in the clubs back pocket because they didn't want the manager sacked after a handful of games. So many football fans seem to have had their brains turned to mince by all the vacuous discourse surrounding the game.

More and more these days I don't give much thought to what the team is likely to be, who the subs are, what the formation is, who's getting released etc. People with more knowledge of the game than me who see the players every day and have all the info to hand make the decisions and I can live with that and just enjoy watching the game and supporting the team, especially when we are 9 points clear in January.

I'm hoping that means Hecky is allowed to bring in another (Loan most likely).

Rheda hasn't even been making the bench the past few games, although this might be because we have decided we want to swap him.

Not good for either party. Good luck to him. If I'm being honest I thought he had good pace but not quite a skillful as I expected him to be.
That said never got a good run. Think the best I saw him was the Blackburn game at home, and perhaps he had a point to prove too.
Do wonder if he got dejected/moody in these past few months when not being picked.... who knows.

Wrong player, wrong club, wrong time.

Would have maybe got more chances is we/Ndiaye weren't having such a good season but there were hints he probably didn't put enough in in training as well.

Mad to think now that Ndiaye was on the bench for the Blackburn home game and Khadra started

That’s gonna come back and bite us in the bum, mark my words last game of season.

Its a Blades thing
So what's the alternative? We keep a player who isn't going to make an impact, and is unhappy at being benched at best, just so that a club we're playing on the last day of the regular season can't play him against us?

Calm down, not looking for an alternative. Just saying it’s written in the stars, we always have a twist

GLTTL but as someone else said, a German Ollie Burke

Agree, you can imagine the Birmingham fans initially thinking “this guy looks good, not delivered anything yet but surely good times ahead”.

Then it’s the same the next match, then the next match, then the next match. After a while you gradually realise that maybe he’s not actually that good. He always plays like he’s rushing and his brain is racing at 100mph so even he doesn’t know what he’s going to do next. Can see value in using him as an unpredictable impact sub.

Will be interesting to see how he progresses at BCFC. Think there’s a player in there but he could also drift away from the game. He really needs some game time playing in the right team.

Didn’t work out here, wish him luck at his new club.

Stop being optimistic I can’t handle the pressure, it’s only a 9 point lead ffs.
I’m not. I’m being pedantic. I think we’ll manage to blow this too but I don’t think it will have much to do with Khadra. Trying to be optimistic, the best twist was the last one; looked like Leeds were going to pip us to automatic promotion, up pops Leon on loan to Wigan. It would be ironic if Khadra scores a winner against Blackburn and scuppers them just when they look like catching us. Shame he’s not going to Ipswich.

I think that many on here have grossly exaggerated how bad his spell with us has been.

He showed a lot of promise initially, he just moves too quick for his brain and needs to get smarter, that's something that can be coached and taught.
As such, he hasn't been the best fit for us at this time, it happens and there have been far more salient examples of players not making the grade.
He's neither been a success nor a crashing failure. Not every opinion on every footballer needs to be cranked up to 11.

I was quite excited that we'd got him based on how he did at Blackburn last season but the fact that Ndiaye has been so good and Berge at the start of the season meant he's had to wait his turn. He's shown flashes of what he can do but perhaps doesn't work hard enough compared to someone like Ndiaye who runs his nuts off AND contributes with goals and assists - a rarity in a red and white shirt

McAtee is getting better and better too and at the end of the day you can only have 11 players on at once and based on some of his decision making, he's not quite cut it.

He's not been terrible but hasn't torn up the trees we thought he would. Waste of our time having a loan spot filled by a guy who can't get in the side and a waste of his too when he needs to get minutes under his belt at a decent level if he has any hopes of being in Brighton's team full time so the best move for all parties.

Depends how you look at it. It could help us if Birmingham take points off our rivals and he helps.
