For Mr Wilson to step up to the plate and see what he is really made of!
Yes, He got us playing excellent football, a joy to watch and on the whole 90 points and 93 goals would have got us promotion but it didn't!
Yes, we were unlucky losing Evans, Beattie, Hoskins, McDonald and Cresswell at a crucial time
But, we bottled it yet again........
All we needed to do was beat Stevenage at home and we would have been there!
All we needed to do was score a penalty to go 2-0 up with two pens to go!
Where we failed was our reliance on two key men Evans and McDonald - no back up plan!
It was obvious to everyone that when McDonald didn't play we struggled to create anything from midfield
It was obvious that take out a striker that had scored 35 goals and created many more we would be in the brown sticky stuff and so it proved
Sheffield United FC - the team with no bottle!
Prove us wrong Mr Wilson
As an overview:
Yes we played attractive football but failed to get promotion from a seemingly unassailable position
Relied heavily on two key players
Substitution tactics unimaginative and usually far too late to change a game
Permanant Buys Hit and Miss - more miss than hit!
Loans - Poor except for Phillips and Clarke
Wilsons record in his second year is generally poor lets see if next year he can step up to the plate and change United from Bottlers to Battlers and from failures to champions
