Is anyone, really. Just glad the fucking things over with. No comments about the game, not blaming anyone for missing pen's,. Accept what's inevitable, still try to get to as many matches as I can next year. Still trust in DW, but feel the next few years may go down in history as the wilderness years if the team gets rid of its better players. Hope all blades get back home safely. UTB

got to trust DW if you told him he'd lose 3 out of 5 of our strikers for the last few games and playoffs he'd laugh and say no one is that unlucky.

My hub says same thing about himself '...no ones that unlucky .'.........................maybe why he supports blades ho hum

Just list those five strikers and find two who you'd trust to lead the side consistently.

I can only think of one and he knew the score with the possibility of losing him.....never even bothered to find a decent replacement. Poor.

glad my decision not to go was justified - typical pile of shite didn't create anything never mind being unlucky in play offs - shite as per !

We seem to specialise in nearly getting there and then messing up. Prior to this season it only happened when we were relegated now it happens in promotion challenging seasons as well: 4 points clear with 3 games to go and we don't get promoted; 1-0 up in a penalty shoot out with us have 3 pens left to our opponents' 2 and we still lose.

Despair seems the only reaction sometime....

hoskins was the replacement - he got injured.

I know I'm contradicting myself, but if we keep blaming the footballing GODS, and accepting the ineviatable. Then the powers that be at BDTBL are being let off lightly.

Unlike you mr glossup. All the blades down here at least had the bottle to go and not hide behind the armchair.

To be fair, Pups, I did say 'decent'.
yes but anyone other than jordan rhodes wouldve been equally as indifferent, seeing as him and evans were streets ahead of anyone else, though to be fair, o'halloran was a waste of a shirt.

I can understand that you are feeling as gutted as we all are at the moment, but the decision to go or not has got nothing to to with "bottle" . Its personal choice bourne out of years of experience, deciding a different way to watch, gut feelings, and being able to pay the rip off prices. If you want "bottle" I'll see you on the pitch.

In the film Clockwise, the John Cleese character says something like "it's not the despair, I can take the despair, it's the hope I can't stand".

That just about sums it up. Every bloody time, they give us hope that it will all be ok - 1981, 1994, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2009 and now 2012 - and every bllody year we get plunged into despair.

Agreed. Club, including chairman and manager, knew all along that evans may go down. And they cover for that by..bringing in hoskins, ohellrun and beattie. Enough said. Certainly shows exactly what mccabe and Wilson had on their minds..hope for best, head in sand.

Only us could be the leading scorers in all English football and fail to gain promotion as our goalie missed a penalty.

The last two visits to Wembley have been lost as a result of having the strike force injured and suspended.
Left with no quality replacements surely management would learn from this.
Injuries and suspensions happen especially at the end of the season.
With quality strikers it would have been over before Simmo had to take a pen.
Charlton saw the danger and loaded up with players even though they were well in front it assured promotion.
We brought in Hoskins in case Evans went down but one Hoskins doesn't cover all suspensions and injuries that can and did crop up.

I must have missed the "Collect 12 tokens, get a free prolific striker" special offer that Kellogg's had on their corn flakes packet.

In your dreams. Maybe too much sun on your head down there eh? Its gutting, I know only too well, and if you want to take it out on me so be it, cry on my shoulder mate. My reply wasn't a threat , merely an invitation for you in turn, to invite me to participate in your next game of football.

How can a team miss their first 3 pens and still win a shootout!?! It just beggars belief

We'll need one - as i my opinion the lose of our prolific striker has cost us promotion

Shit shop for a t shirt
