Might be a bit controversial but the one thing that Monty does do consistently well is mark people out of the game. Might be the man to stick on Rhodes?
Just saying!

How many times have you seen Monty this season? But if KMac was out injured....?
Just saying!
People have advocated a 4-4-2 formation on the basis of Jordan Rhodes being bound to score at least once. That's just a guess. If we cut out the service to him and block his efforts he may score none.
I thought Monty was terrible when he came on. He gave the ball away two or three times, that led to them almost scoring. His shortcomings were made evident by the fact that other players around him were trying to play football.
Funny how we all see things differently.
Won't get into the debate regarding his selection, but if Monty plays it won't be to mark Rhodes. Rhodes plays up front and will have to be dealt with by our centre halves. Huddersfield will probably play Damien Johnson and Tommy Miller in central midfield and to be honest they are not the kind of playmakers that require man marking.

Huddersfield scored a pretty poor 35 goals at home this season, worse than Stevenage. Even worse than Wycombe. Maybe they are similar to Stevenage in that they are not good at opening up teams when the onus is on them to dominate the game. Their 3-0 win at Bramall Lane and 0-1 defeat at their place supports that theory. We've seen something that didn't work, and something that worked.
Having learned from the league game at BL, the Stevenage play off games saw us soak up whatever they had to offer (not a great deal when we got our tactics right) and gradually start to dominate. The formation, work rate and focus made sure that we didn't take too big risks and they weren't allowed to break.
We're not at our best. Plan A, B and C may have gone out the window in terms of options up front. But get our tactics just right and we'll have a great chance at Wembley.
If there is one thing that Monty can bring to the party it is the fact that he has the experience of the big occasion and this could help settle a few nerves in the camp
(yeah OK tin hat as I know what's coming next!)
only way Monty gets picked is if Hudds sign Frank Lampard before the game.
No, will have to watch, and celebrate, in a pub here in Bergen...Will you be there Bergen?
