And Hecky has no idea how to play it. They brought 3 unenforced subs on and we ust continued to run our players into the ground. How the @@@@ he thinks the likes of Ndiaye and McB are
going to stay fit whilst been battered around for 90 mins I've no idea

Now what for Norwich? They should have had 70 mins at most then Brewster and Khadra should have been brought on. If he doesn't learn how to use his bench we have no chance of going up and the injuries will continue.

Ps Basham is struggling enough without playing him on the left, Osborn will never ever be good enough, Doyle and McAtee will never play a first team game for City and Ndiaye is verging on being world class!

So, your suggestion tonight was to take off our only attacking threat? And just give the game up? Really?

Hecky is a clever bloke but in almost every away game he gets schooled by a fat useless journeyman manager who has the 'street smarts' and knows to throw the dice. Hecky stands still and waits until the 87th minute. Not sure why. Perhaps he needs to study this at uni.

If the medics are guiding player management as they should then I'd have been taking McBurnie off on 70 mins.

Get Khadra on to run at them and have Iliman up front. After the former's poor cameo on Saturday he would have been keen to make amends.

It would have also changed the dynamic where at least two defenders on yellows would have players consistently running at them.

You then still have the last option to bring on Brewster and Sharp for N'Diaye and McAtee in a final throw of the dice.

The option I hadn't considered was to just do nothing until 2 minutes from time and leave 2 of those 3 on the bench. I wasn't aware Nigel Clough had rejoined us!

If he keeps doing that, he'll be losing my support very quickly.

It's only by going for it that we'll get out of this division. In the end we didn't go for it and still lost. How would you rather lose? In a blaze of glory or with a whimper? I know how I'd rather see them approach it.

No of course not, I would have left them all on, run them into the ground, risk more injuries, whilst Coventry bring fresh legs on amd lose 1-0 ....worked well didn't it ?

And let's see what we look like on Saturday when we ask the dame boys to go again !!!

We’re surely at the point now where we can’t play 5-3-2? We have no attacking quality in the wing back & CM areas with the players we have out and it really shows.

Is it unrealistic to try this for the next couple of games?

Davies
Baldock Anel Egan JLT
Norwood Doyle
Khadra Ndiaye McAtee
McBurnie

Anel and Egan can surely play as a 2, and Baldock and JLT are full backs not wing backs. Then this at least allows us to have some the 3 positive players getting forward in support of McBurnie, with Sharp and Brewster on the bench.

Totally agree, wingbacks are meant to be a threat in the final third, causing carnage and whipping in crosses, ours do the complete opposite and end up looking like the defenders on the opposing side

All the negotiations ,& tooing & frowing to get Khadra here and he gives him either a 10 minute cameo completely out of position as a fkg wing back or sat getting splinters in his arse on the bench ..maybe I’m missing something ... and yes if I was in Khadra’s shoes I’d be getting a little bit more than fucked off

The reason for our injury problems become clearer after games like this one.

Yes we were on top for large parts. But Hecky doesn't seem to understand that good, threatening players have finite energy levels and get tired. How many times have we seen Sander knackered after 70 mins yet kept on til full time?

Ndiaye was clearly tiring after doing all the leg work himself - he's had cramp issues in the past so it would be sensible to manage his fitness, no? While taking off our best player is risky, the alternative would be to help him by bringing on two runners in Brewster and Khadra against a tiring Coventry defense.

We're allowed to do more subs than ever, our bench tends to be stronger than ever, yet we continue to play tired players while the opposition bring on fresh players so it's no wonder we struggle in the last 15 minutes particularly when away.

At 60-70 minutes, there was a bit more liveliness, making changes then wouldn't have been best imo. Otherwise I think there would have been a few changes then.

JLT was the obvious replacement for RND last night. If he is not ready he should not be on the bench. Same on Saturday when the defence as all over the place he could have brought him on at HT but didn't. My slight worry with Hecky was his poor use of subs at times last season and with the extra ones available now it will continue to be a big factor this season.

Totally agree, there are 4 players picked primarily to defend and there should be enough going forward there to not be reliant on full backs or central defenders coming forward to do the attacking for them.

That's a pretty fearsome front 4 at this level. Run at defenders and get them back-pedaling and less of the tippy tappying around the corner of the box.

Last night from the first whistle reminded me of many of the disasters in Wilder's last season where we went into the game relying on a lucky bounce or a mistake rather than forcing anything ourselves.

I hope your head is fine after banging it against a brick wall. Sometimes it just isn't worth the effort. Thick is as thick is.
