I’m sure we’ll have had one before but I can’t seem to recall any of our players receiving a red after the whistle? Anyone remember?

Another goalkeeper - Graham Benstead at Wrexham in the Sherpa Van Trophy (now the Papa Johns) in 1988-9I’m sure we’ll have had one before but I can’t seem to recall any of our players receiving a red after the whistle? Anyone remember?
He’d been substituted, as had big Oli but didn’t stop him getting stuck in either!Violent conduct, three matches.
cannot see why there guy was on the pitch as he had been sent off and whatever made Wes react as he did, it must have been more than missing out on his win bonus. Hopefully we find out
Eh? Oli has been subbed on, Lavery off… I don’t understand the similarityHe’d been substituted, as had big Oli but didn’t stop him getting stuck in either!
Apologies mind playing tricks. Baldock was on the field too after being subbed too. It happensEh? Oli has been subbed on, Lavery off… I don’t understand the similarity
Considering how inept he seems to be I'd expect it to be covered in drool, biscuit crumbs and drawn with crayon. The ref's report for this one would make interesting bedtime reading!
Glyn Hodges at Sunderland in March 1991. He headbutted Gordon Armstrong (his brother later played for us) after the final whistleI’m sure we’ll have had one before but I can’t seem to recall any of our players receiving a red after the whistle? Anyone remember?
Hodges was banned over that incident after an inquiry but was not sent off.Glyn Hodges at Sunderland in March 1991. He headbutted Gordon Armstrong (his brother later played for us) after the final whistle
I was there, the ref saw it all and pulled out his notepad to jot down a few words and am quite sure he pulled out his red card too?Hodges was banned over that incident after an inquiry but was not sent off.
No. Hodges not recorded as being sent off.I was there, the ref saw it all and pulled out his notepad to jot down a few words and am quite sure he pulled out his red card too?
Not after full time, but I remember at Millwall about twenty years ago Paddy Kenny getting sent off at half time along with their player/manager Dennis Wise after a fight in the tunnel on their way off the pitch. Warnock had no goalkeeper on the bench so Jags went in goal for the second half. I recall we turned a half time deficit of 1-0 into a 2-1 victory with Derek Geary scoring a worldie for us.I was there, the ref saw it all and pulled out his notepad to jot down a few words and am quite sure he pulled out his red card too?
I think we always seemed to win when Jags went in net. Beat Arsenal in similar circumstances too, although Kenny was injured that time rather than sent off.Not after full time, but I remember at Millwall about twenty years ago Paddy Kenny getting sent off at half time along with their player/manager Dennis Wise after a fight in the tunnel on their way off the pitch. They should make a documentary featuring that. Not after full time, but I remember at Millwall about twenty years ago Paddy Kenny getting sent off at half time along with their player/manager Dennis Wise after a fight in the tunnel on their way off the pitch. Ok. Looks like the ruling at the time was that you cant send a player off after the final whistle? No. Hodges not recorded as being sent off.
Muscat was sent off for Millwall in the same incident. Not after full time, but I remember at Millwall about twenty years ago Paddy Kenny getting sent off at half time along with their player/manager Dennis Wise after a fight in the tunnel on their way off the pitch. No, as It had happened to Benstead 2 years before.Ok. Looks like the ruling at the time was that you cant send a player off after the final whistle?
Makes sense!I remember why - Hodges had already been subbed. He could not be sent off at that point (at that time at least)
Yes, the rules have changed since Hodges. A Wednesday player (Johnson?) was sent off after being subbed in one of the Derby games at Hillsborough about a decade ago.Makes sense!
EDIT:
Lavery was subbed yesterday too and was shown the red card too![]()
The very least he deservedHendrie got one after FT in the Burnley play off final
Not sure but you'd definitely get a song dedicated to you.If you get redcarded during a game, then come on at the end and start fighting, would you get another red card?
Nor Sharp and Maxine who both came running on !!He’d been substituted, as had big Oli but didn’t stop him getting stuck in either!
Not sure. Closest incident of this nature I saw was Oliver Reed wrestling naked with Alan Bates in Women in LoveAre they 1 match ban or 3?
Good series that on TVWhos Maxine?
