Can’t see how Fleck gets back into the team. Doyle is an upgrade.I expect we'll see Anel, Bogle and Fleck at the weekend

Disagree. Think Doyle will be "first choice". But may be hard to interpret as I think we'll see a higher quality John Fleck when he doesn't have to play as much, also coming from the bench.Fleck is left footed and Doyle isn’t. Hecky likes balance and the shape, not as much as Wilder but it’s still important to him... my prediction is as soon as Fleck is fit he’s back in the starting 11.
Surely we'll have Fleck, Norwood and Doyle in midfield with Berge out? Although it will take a while for Fleck to get match fit. It always does. Can’t see how Fleck gets back into the team. Doyle is an upgrade.
Agreed. Had an disagreement other day with a mate about Fleck, he thinks he's poor. I said you do realise a player of Fleck's quality is very good to have on the bench and freshen things up in place of a Doyle or Norwood. No chance Fleck, or anyone, replaces Doyle as long as he's fit, that's obvious
Fleck is now a sub, but one who makes us much stronger than most subs would
Fleck is back running. No idea how so soon after a fractureIf we can have Anel, Baldock and or Bogle back that will make a big difference to us. McBurnie will be back we know anyway.
Means we can have a back line up of something like Bogle, Anel, Egan, RND, Osborn or Basham in place of Osborn and RND at LWB.
Better still if Berge is as back as well. Didn't know that Fleck was close, is he?
Its looking like we will have less injuries come the WC break which is pretty frustrating really. Hopefully post WC we will have a much fresher looking team and won't have gained any more bad injuries.
Standard fractures don't lay you out that long, and you can be running within a couple of weeks.Fleck is back running. No idea how so soon after a fracture

Don't think Fleck is poor exactly, my view is that he's coasting as though he's achieved what he wanted to achieve by playing PL football.
It's as though he's earned enough money in the game to provide the lifestyle he wants, so the hunger has gone.
Maybe the injury he had when he collapsed on the pitch has effected his attitude going forward, so he's happy to just do enough.
In the early days Fleck used to play like he was playing for a contract. He was hungry and out to make an impression on the game.
He made plenty of forward runs, tried a few shots and made difficult passes, sometimes he produced 8 or 9 out of 10 performances.
However for the past 2-3 years he's lost his hunger and seems to be more intent in not making mistakes.
He's now makes plenty of easy sideways passes or back passes, just keeps the ball ticking over and rarely makes forward runs or even try shots.
These days he seems to be content to have 6 out of 10 performances, he's consistently OK but never anything more.
As mentioned, a good quality player who can do a job if being used as sub.

This was mentioned at the time, it was just drowned out by the pearl clutches proclaiming he'd definitely be out until Jan.
Not unusual for players to have a reaction after knee surgery.Hopefully that's the case with Bogle.Have a horrible feeling we won't be seeing Bogle for a while. A 100% healthy knee doesn't swell up after 60mins of football. We all thought he was rushed back somewhat. If he is out for an extended period of time then serious questions have to be asked of our physio team. Especially after the JOC fiasco.
I actually think it was mainly in shoutbox to be fair where we were talking about recovery times when Fleck was diagnosed with a fracture but it wasn't specifically you who came to mind.Possibly aimed at my posts in the 'Injuries' thread. If so, you're being a tad disingenuous.
I always add a disclaimer that I am just guessing on timescales based on the known information.
I have never said anything is definite, how could it be?
Also, have always had December for Fleck. Remembering that there's a 4-week-break from mid-Nov to mid-Dec.
The assumption being that - I didn't think we'd rush him back if there was an option not to and that we'd use that four-week-break to get him to 100%.
It's great that it's looking like he may return sooner, I just hope he's not another one that we're going to rush and then incur a setback..
I agree there is something a miss . All clubs get injuries but in the past 2 years ours have been some what out of all proportion compared to others .Not just the amount but the seriousness of a great deal of them are not normal . Players out for months and months and in one case 2 years seems strange .I dont want to point the finger at anyone or any part of the club but maybe it could be money well spent if there was some sort of organization who could be employed to look at the problem and find out why we are getting so many in the last two years and what if anything is causing them. Plus recovery times involving treatments seem to be hell of a lot slower than other clubs. There is deffo something amiss when it comes to the sheer amount of injuries we have accumulated.
Somebody or some people … somewhere have to be held accountable as they clearly are not doing their jobs correctly.
Either that or something darker e.g. players dragging injuries out so they don’t have to play (but I don’t believe it could be this)

HE'S BACK ON THE GRASS

The medical department is headed by Steve Humphries, ably supported by Ryan Flanagan, Ignatius Szuba, Chris Senior and Paul Evans, they are supplemented by club doctors Dr Alex Worthington and Dr Roshan Gunaserkera.Came upon this contribution elsewhere. No. it isn't corroborated and I am not saying it is correct. It is however IMO interesting and food for thought.
"Heckingbottom will bring in a number of coaches to support his role, including former Blades players Jack Lester, who becomes head of player development, and Stuart McCall, who is the new assistant manager. Further announcements with regards to the structure of the football department will be made in due course."
Statement from the Club 11 months ago. No further announcements on structure and new coaches for the rest of the season. Tom Little came in the summer as Head of Performance. Vacancies at the academy and goalkeeping coach were filled by people just moving up the ladder. No replacement for Head of medical services, no new bodies overall suggests trimming of the structure not enhancing it.
Promises were also made at the time about investing in facilities. That investment is not additional its reducing the playing budget to pay for pitch improvements. We didn't have enough money for 2 desso pitches so we had to mix, match and patch. Pitch improvements not ready till November, team having to train on u23 pitches and not enough space for rehab work outside. The players haven't had full training sessions for 7 weeks as a consequence. Taking all this into account the manager has done well to get us where we currently are.
There still has to be questions asked about the standard of fitness and conditioning with the number of pulls and strains and why player recovery is so slow. The type of weekly probing you'd get from an experienced Director of Football in situ. Our plate spinning structure doesn't seem to allow for this meaning that pro active problem solving is non existent and issues drift until eventually they reach crisis mode as it has done now with injuries. Van Winkel has gone so there is no one at Board level with football experience that could question the competence of the fitness team. This lack of accountability is likely to hinder significantly our prospects for promotion.

Someone is.Think they must have all lied though their stethoscopes on their CV's then, or they're agents for our competitors.
