Sign of a good side. And they are a good side (for this division).

We need to hope they slip up. So either their luck (in terms of results <> performance) runs out, or flips completely (i.e. they pound Wycombe and manage to lose/draw)

An early goal for us, and a stupid sending off for them would be a good start for the fisrt 20 mins on Sat...

Promised to jump in the Quay naked (or maybe speedo's) if Beattie fires us up. I'll extend this to jumping in if we get promoted. All this can be filmed and put on here of course.

In fact, if other forum members think it will be funny, I will allow whichever Blades are around to throw me in and I will sing nah, nah, nah ..... BT as they do it!?

I think if we get promoted Saturday we put up a big banner on City Hall saying "Fuck you Wednesday!"

Mind you I think we should do that anyway...
 
In the spirit of this thread (ridiculous and unfounded optimism) I have decided to do a bit of straw clutching. I am probably setting myself up for a fall by getting excited that it is not over yet, but fuck it. I am travelling to Exeter and hence will be disappointed if Wednesday win and therefore I may as well spur myself ......

The last time Sheffield Wednesday had a crowd over 37k at Hillsborough they blew it (and got relegated). The Palace game where they had to win to stop up and they drew 2-2. In fact, wasn’t it actually way back in 2004 (when Jones won the only thing he ever won) that Wednesday did, well erm ... owt (Sturrock's play off win).

Jones’ recent history in big games:
  • Cardiff play off semi final 2011: lost
  • Cardiff play off final 2010: lost
  • Cardiff FA cup final 2008: lost
In fact, you have to go way back to 2004 to find his team actually winning a trophy or getting promotion. That was at the expense of us of course. Completely slipped my mind that he was managing Wolves then.
Now there is some prime cherry picking there, and of course Cardiff won some big games on the way to a play off final and FAS cup final, but when it came to the absolute crunch Cardiff fell. Now perhaps Saturday is the day he puts these to bed, but I wonder if he is now feeling the pressure. I’d be really surprised if he cocked things up, but he has never took a team to automatic promotion and I wonder if he is losing sleep. This would of course transfer to the players.

I was thinking of putting the £50 winnings from Sat plus all money Id spend on going to the playoffs so about £250- £300 on the pigs to win on sat, then if we go up it will have just cost me the same as watching us win the playoffs and if not well its another £35 beer money, going to look and see if its possible to get an accumulator going that would effectively be the same results just to push the odds up slightly.

If somehow we go up this Sat I'll go T'Total for a whole month - starting monday :)
 
Somone can choose 1 of these for me to do:

a) kiss me missus like I actually mean it
b) eat a teabag (did it once about 20 years ago for a bet and threw up)
c) drink a glass of me own piss but only if we win and pigs lose (if you think this one bear in mind I am from Worksop but moved to Barnsley, it's nearly a staple vitamin there)
 
Wycombe will get a draw, unfortunately Exeter will too.
