Only just realised now it was goals in the 89th and 93rd minutes which relegated Wycombe on Saturday.

They had a double impact IMO.

Firstly, a draw for Wycombe would have meant they needed a win at Hillsborough, wheres now they have nothing to play for.

Secondly, it pushed Stevenage down to 7th by a point. Whether this galvanised Stevenage I don't know.

Basically, I don`t beleive it is fair on any team to have to play at a different time to their closest challengers at this stage of the season. The knoweldge regarding what is a "good result" is disproportionally advantagouse, and teh knowledge that "the pressure is on" is disproportionally disadvantagouse.

In our situation, I am convinced that the pressure of Wendy taking 2nd 5 time in the last 7 games, with us playing later has taken its toll on us. Conversely, had Wendy drawn or lost, it would hardly be fair on them that we knew a win would put us (virtually) up.

I think the best way to get a full house would have to be free ticket to season ticket holders, i realise the drop in revenue but i have spoken to many ST holders who have decided not to go as they see it as a waste of money now offer them a freebie and bang full house. Gets lots of money from sky fill the place and we might just do it.

Got to agree with you there playing later was very unfair this late in the season people might say it helped before but not this close to the end of the season.

Like we did on Saturday you mean?

Maybe they will play better behind closed doors?
Worth a try - save us the heart ache.
Could always draw cards from a deck - we might have a better chance in that situation

So same as Saturday then, its a fucker when the twelvth man turns up and half the first 11 dont bother in the first half.

If I could, I would have Bassett in charge on Saturday, at least the ball would go in the box on a regular basis.

Up and at em Danny ......

I have tickets to see Duane Eddy the night of the Home Leg, I'm royally pissed off. Bloody bottle jobs.

It works both ways. Had Wednesday drawn or lost I suspect our lads would have been extremely boosted by the news. It isn`t fair on any team. Psychology plays such an important part in sport.

if we are 0-0 at half time, and Wendy are losing 3-0, you'd see a different side comne out for teh second half such would be the confidence boost...

...and then we'd lose...

it clearly made a difference in the 2nd half, plus 2 deflected goals, 2 handballs not given in the box on another day that game finishes 2 or 3 nil also not the crowd fault porter can't finish.

i think the crowd made a big difference to the way we played 15,000 fans and i don't think we would have got back into it plus no one expected 2 deflected goals to go in.

Bloody deflections. When you think about the number of scrambles in the box we had in the last few mins, its a wonder we didn`t get one.

We equalised about 10 mins too late. Another 10 mins and we'd have won that match...
