Only just managed to get onto thread, the queue is massive, as long as ched is not playing a 1-0 win

I'd be inclined to start Brewster and Khadra given their impact on Tuesday. Freshens things up, and adds more pace to our play.

Interesting to see RNDs progress, been my player of the season so far. If not I expect Gordon to come in, Basham on the right, Baldock on the left. Not ideal, but where we're at. Fingers crossed he's fine.

Wonder as well if we're forced to change shape, but I doubt that will be the case.

Be a tough game, but let's see what happens.

I'd start kharda ahead of Ndiaye, we've seen how marking him takes him out of the game. Coming on around 70 minute mark and running at tired legs for me

Looked like the interchange last time we went Deepdale with the amount of bus parking I saw.

I fully expect their tactics will be the same and a frustrating match is likely ahead. We're in a better position than we were last season and we look more of a threat on the break.

I think Ched played in their last game or at least came on as sub.

I predict a loss or a draw tomorrow, with those chanting "super, super Ched" singled out for blame

Be a tough game, be hard to break down, they will set out to frustrate us.
Hecky might be tempted to start Brewster/Khadra.

Sounded like we’ll be close to having a lot of the injured players back after the break. International break coming at a good time for a change.

No one back after international break.
A couple might be back after WC.
But then , some of our many internationals might get injured on duty for their countries.
We'll be running on fumes for a while yet.
A leftsided U21 mf was in the squad at Swansea who might be able to play Lb.
I think we have another leftsided defender U21 who's not yet been in the matchday 18.
With no talk of getting a free agent in , we must be relying on these 2 U21s as backup !

I hope Ched is on the losing team tomorrow.

Bogle back in training and available after this break. Most of the others around 4 weeks from now.

This game will not be a good watch for the neutral.

While we've won two away games on the road it still feels like we're holding back a bit on our travels. (See Berge)

Meanwhile Preston are just ultra negative. Only conceding twice in 9 games sounds amazing but only scoring 3 times just shows you how much they focus on not conceding.

Can't see either team scoring more than 1 goal if any at all.

Going for a 0-0 draw.

Logic would success a 0-0 or 1-0.

However I’ve a feeling could be a high scoring, go for a 2-2 draw.

Edit: Just noticed Hecky won the manager of the month, so that pretty much gaurantees defeat, chsnging it to a 2-0 defeat.

The manager of month award was announced prior to Swansea which we won

So the curse is now null and voided 😘

It is going to be a battle to break down their very organised team. I spoke to a PNE supporting mate who said that they have been painful to watch. The focus has been on not conceding to the detriment of any real attacking intent. He did however say that at times they have been fortunate with some poor/unlucky finishing from opposition teams who have had chances but not converted.

Our issue at the moment is with injuries to defenders so this may be to our benefit if they are not going to come out and attack us. The patched up defence (Still very good with the likely back 3 of Anel, Egan and Bash) will hopefully not be put under too much pressure and if they dig in at the back it could help us with Anel/Bash being given some freedom to get forward and assist in attacks.

As for attacking options, we have a number of good players to choose from. As said above, they are likely to sit in and defend so we are going to have to either get the ball forward quickly/get in behind them or move the ball around to prod and probe for gaps. Fortunately we have the players for all scenarios.
Personally I would go with the starting 11 from Swansea (fitness permitting) and see how the game pans out. Berge and Ndiaye with support from Doyle and Norwood (who is getting forward more this season) have the ability to boss the final third of the pitch and McBurnie showing what he is capable of and being a pain for the defenders to create enough space for chances to be created. When you consider that Anel will be in and around their area at every opportunity there is a lot of firepower there.
If it doesn't work out then we have the option of Khadra, Brewster and McAtee available to inject some additional pace and guile then we should have enough to win the game.

Hoping for a convincing win to go into the international break sitting pretty at the top of the table.
I'll be enjoying the game with a beer of 10 as I go into a weeks leave after work today and a trip to Bali to look forward to!!!!!

Must have been bizarre/painful to watch them this season so far. 9 games played, only 3 scored and 2 conceded. Plenty of time to nip out for 3 course meal let alone a pie.

Always liked Daniel Johnson and wonder why we never signed him a few years back.

I'd be tempted to start with Khadra instead of Ndaiye. He looked very good v Swansea. He looked a little accident-prone (an underhit pass that could have allowed them to break) and he was guilty of taking men on when he should have passed. But he looked fantastic going forward, lots of pace and tricks - our best forward player that day. He'll be really confident after scoring. We really have an embarrasment of riches in our forward positions.

Preston are banging in the goals for fun, we need to be tighter than a crabs arse at the rear.....Just a minute!
2-0 blades.
