He just probably hasn't remembered this, but he was at that Charlton FA Cup quarter final under Clough in March 2014 (as a pundit I think) as he wasn't managing a club at that particular time. After the match Clough said in his post match interview that Warnock had said to him that the result reminded him of the great cup runs we went on in the early 00's.

I saw him in the car park after full time where he signed a few autographs for some Blades that were knocking about.

Ha ha, Warnock at his best! He'll never change but in many ways I wouldn't want that either! I just wish he'd not flirted with Wednesday, that sadly changed my view on Warnock entirely for the worse.
 
I'm going to the city Hall all being well. He's good entertainment. I'm not bothered about whether he's a cock end or not. He's not taking himself seriously and just trying to have a laugh. I started going to the Lane properly during his tenure and so many of my favourite memories are from him. Brown against Pigs. Peschi in play offs. Jags against Leeds.

I've never understood the hate or dislike towards him
 
If they don't ask him about his Sudocrem addiction it's not worth listening to.

I'll probably listen but then he'll annoy me and I'll stop because he'll start talking about how much he loves the club and when he wor a lad and stuff.

I liked him when he was our manager and I've cringed at him ever since.

Great podcast to promote his after dinner speaking. I hope the club are getting some commission for that.
 
The thing with Warnock is that he's a bullshitter.....he tells people what they want to hear.

When he talks about his former clubs....apparently they were ALL brilliant clubs with the best fans in the world.
When he joins new clubs he talks about how he's always thought the club has the best supporters and have huge potential.

Did a great job for us though.
Not sure if he has a bit of the Chris Wilders about him.
What I mean is that give him basic players form the lower divisions and he's got this knack of creating an excellent team.

However give him cash to buy highly talented players and they don't tend to work out.
Never liked how Warnock (again like Wilder) was all sweetness and smiles when he's winning, great personality and likeable
but when his teams lose Warnock has an excuse for eveything and blames everyone except himself.
Wilder didn't do that as much but you can see that Wilder is a very poor loser too and when he doesn't get his own way then there's plenty of excuses.

Yeah, we don't always have a programme seller on the corner of Bramall Lane and John Street anymore, so I suppose he could make himself useful...

Ultimately, it's that trait which cost both of them their jobs here and stopped them getting jobs with 'bigger clubs'...
 



Enjoyed the podcast, didn't really say anything we didn't already know apart from a few things (in Chinese take away when Dooley told him he got the United job & got a "keybab" after we won promotion to the PL) but it was enjoyable.

I honestly didn't even know this podcast series existed until I watched the Warnock one last night, ended up sitting through the Dave Bassett and Michael Tonge one too.
 
Not seen anything broadcast from the old Enterprise Centre before.
 
I still remember that night in 1999 when we lost 3-1 at home to Port Vale in the Chamionship (think it was called First Division then) in front of a crowd of about 9000. We were abject and Adrian Heath resigned as manager. We were bottom of division and at rock bottom. Warnock was appointed leaving Bury. The general view of Bury supporters was good riddance. Warnock bought Michael Brown for not a lot and gradually rebuilt the squad without so far as I recall spending any money. We had the fantastic "nearly" season in 2003 (?) With FA Cup and League Cup semis and finished 3rd in Champ but lost PO Final. Great nights at the Lane beating Leeds then Liverpool and the PO semi against Forest. Superb memories and then promotion to the PL. Some of the best times we have ever had as Blades. So even though he may be a twat on occasions I say a huge thank you Neil for those great times and memories.

Enjoyed it. Nothing groundbreaking and just more evidence that McCabe was a bit of a twat.

Yes, I was surprised to hear him claim that he was on the same basic wage in the PL than he was in the second tier. Makes the 'flirting with Portsmouth' episode more understandable. He was probably trying to get an improved contract at the Lane.

Saying that, you must take everything he says with a pinch of salt.

Yeah me too and you yes, you should. But given what else people have said about McCabe and what we know of how he did business, it’s certainly believable.
