Absolutely spoilt for qualiteh Blades podcasts these days, will definitely give it a listen 👍👍👍

Why isn’t it searchable on BBC Sounds? It’ll get more listener if we can search and subscribe rather than wait for you to post a link.

Haha yeah

I’ve ruined 4 laptops with the old porridge excuse, the missis does wonder why I only eat porridge the 3rd Thursday of the month when she goes to bingo mind
6pm every Monday to Friday for an hour
Took me a while to suss out that you weren't actually replying to steve26272's post about... ahem... 'Porridge Time', Ains. 🤣

It will be -- just in the pilot process at the moment. But promise it will be on Sounds!
What with this being a Pilot thing, I would hope that feedback is a massive part of this process? Therefore I hope that I am welcome to give my thoughts on this episode?

I will be honest, up until the point in which Morgs entered the mix.. I kind of struggled to understand who blades heaven is actually aimed at. Quite frankly it could have been aimed at any neutral up and down the country, it felt more like a typical media feature on national TV. I would imagine that with a name like Blades heaven, that this feature is aimed solely at blades fans?? It didn’t feel this way….to address the team as they, as opposed to we etc. It felt more like something off an highlights show, as opposed to a feature on our club.

Suddenly Morgs enters the mix and you can tell that he still holds so much for the club, he might not be a player any more but it’s still his club. It is ever present in the way he speaks about Sheffield United Football club, he may be an agent but he still holds a massive flame for us and we are very much still his team.

As Sheffield United fans, I personally feel that we have some of the best amateur and home grown media of there. As a blade living further a field at present, I don’t get the same opportunity as some to put the world to rights down the pub on a Friday night etc. Therefore, I am heavily invested in some of our fans fantastic offerings in order to get my blades ‘fix’ so to speak.

The are several ‘fan led’ media offerings at the moment, all of which I enjoy in my spare time… all of which are slightly different… however there are key reasons why I really enjoy tuning in…

Sorry to the other productions by the way, because I know many of you contribute on this very forum. But I’m just throwing this one out there as an example of fantastic blades media.

The Sheffield United Way, fronted by Ingoodnick and S24SU’s @YorkBlade….

What makes The Sheffield United Way for me?

Genuine passion and relatability. It doesn’t feel like a typical ‘glossed over’ offering, you actually feel part of everything discussed. From one end of the spectrum and the feeling of elation, to the other end of the spectrum and sheer anger… you can relate to all of the content…. The whole ‘created by the tan, for the fan’ thing goes a long way for me. They know the sort of content that creates a buzz, they know how we all tend to think… The fact that ingoodnick and YorkBlade don’t see eye to eye all the time makes it even more interesting. They are happy to disagree and put across good counter arguments as to why…. It is very much like that conversation in the pub and that is what makes it great viewing.

You can’t compete with the fantastic fan content if you are going with the usual national media approach. If this is truly ‘blades heaven’ then unfortunately you need much, much more.

Appreciate the feedback.

We'll take everything on board, absolutely.

Not sure I agree on this being a 'national' style podcast, given it's 25 minutes of Blades talk with two passionate former Blades involved and a feature with a current Blades player. Obviously it's not a fan-led production and will be slightly different -- but that's OK. Not every show has to be the same, or a copy of each other, or try to do the same thing.

Also, I don't feel like it's a competition. We're just producing content we think you'll enjoy.

I think the only problem with a ‘blades’ podcast, is too much positivity, especially like now, when the squad is doing so well.

Might be a good thing to have a small section on criticisms from supporters. Of course we are in a great position now, but my background worries remain the same. Injuries, (PH seems too dismissive for my liking. Academy, (Status still, has some downsides). Ground improvements, (An update wouldn’t go amiss). Hotel, (It’s a great asset). What’s the latest.

I would also include an update on injured players. Plenty to choose from JOC, Osborn, JLT, Billy? Of course you should keep the focus on positives. Asaba is a good choice, because he’s obviously a fan, and he talks sense too. Just include updates on stuff fans are interested in, as well as the stuff we all agree on!

I agree with this.. FH Team if you're able to fit in say a 10 min fan section where a different fan each week gets to provide what their positives and concerns are of the current season.. that would be great

By the tan, for the fan. Vincent Tan?
Hoping not. 😊

Appreciate the feedback! We are definitely planning on having more supporter involvement (we are working out the best way to make this happen but have a few ideas, stay tuned).

Typically the injury updates etc will take place in press conferences but happy to introduce those subjects as topics as we go forward.

And hey -- enjoy the positivity! The Blades are doing great.

I liked it precisely because it is different from the fan produced pods. I love listening to podcasts, it's something I do every day, and so the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned, particularly if they are Sheffield United related.

I'd subscribe.
