I had a look on *wlstalk last night and after about 10 minutes of the Orient v Udders game, with Orient 1-0 up,somebody had started a thread with the title "Do you think Udders will throw in the towel on Saturday?" I felt that such speculation was a bit premature, with 80 minutes still to play and it wasn't entirely certain that Udders would lose.

By the end of the game, somebody else had posted the view that as Udders had lost a player for Saturday through suspension (although they couldn't even agree amongst themselves whether said player is suspended or not), that all in all, it had been a pretty good evening.

How desperate would you need to be, to overlook completetely that the team breathing down your neck, who you have to play on Saturday, had just won comfortably away from home, with the most potent goalscorer in the league, bar none, returning to form, and declare yourself satisfied with the outcome because one of his team mates will be suspended for the weekend (or not, as the case may be)?

I have been having a look on there recently. It does seem to be equivalent to Bladesmad, rather than the intellectual elite we get here :-)

A good example was their reaction to our win on Sat, which led to a general moan fest about we are only where we are as, inter alia, we get loads of dodgy penalties. This was on the basis of two pens in the last two games, obvlious to the fact that prior to that we had only had three pens all season (and missed two of them)!

I just wish Dave Jones was being so relaxed about it... sadly I doubt he will be.

Rhodes is back scoring again, I think he'd hit a dodgy patch when we played them and we had to battle.

Given that the pigs are trying to play a different style now, I'm not sure they will be able to adapt that well.

I'll be watching this one with an open mind, but i'd be surprised if the pigs beat Huddersfield

I think suspensions for Red cards are effective immediately.

Suspensions for accumulating Yellows take 7 days, which means the player in question would be OK for both the Easter games.

I do know that Rob Jones is suspended after a shocker of a yellow vs PNE. So if Hudds try to bombard Wendy, the bean pole won't be there to head 'em away.

Sadly for Wednesday their captain Jones he will miss both Huddersfield and Oldham matches I believe.

I'm not sure that will affect them against Hudds so much, but Oldham and Kuqi, just maybe...

I think Huddersfield winning last night may possibly be a decent result for us. If they'd lost or drawn I think they may have settled mentally for the play offs. Now they'll be determined to beat the pigs on Saturday and hope that we mess up vs Bournemouth.

But if we win, we'll be five points ahead of both with five games to go.

Yeah they had to win last night to give themselves hope for 2nd spot and thus meaning they will go into the match wanting to beat Wednesday.

I can see the game on Saturday being a draw though.

There's another thread on there from a q and a with their CEO Paul Aldridge where he admits they never could have funded the ground improvements for the world cup and it was reckless to spend the hundred of thousands involved in funding their bid for a club almost bankrupt
Sure we all told them this at the time and were met with howls of derision from the delusionaires

But thousands of them were still insisting on blowing strap - on off on forums and other media outlets, insisting that he was the best thing since the proverbial sliced loaf. Thick fuck faced fuckers.

Said the same thing this morning.

A Huddersfield win on Saturday would be the best result for us. It would put us 5 points clear of 3rd place if we win. The points gap to 4th is irrelevant.

Ah, but it wasn't their money that was wasted, as usual:

'Coun Scriven said the cost of putting together Sheffield's campaign to hold matches has cost around £400,000, approximately half of which is public money, from the council and development agencies Creative Sheffield and Yorkshire Forward.'

"It is a small sum when you consider that studies have show a city hosting World Cup matches can enjoy a boost to its economy of between 141 million and 300 million, depending on which matches it holds."

All utter bollocks of course, but it's not his money, is it?

I'm only surprised that the Co-op Bank didn't chuck in a few bob. Link.

Me too; coincidence? But leave Udders and Piggies to fight it out and if we take 3pts on Sat, the pressure's off us...a bit at least...

COYRAWW...aaahhhhh!

To be fair you could go on bladesmad and make a very good argument that utd fans struggle with the basics of communication let alone any kind of ability for reasoned debate.
