Osborn “does a job”. He’s a body. Playing at right wing back he’ll work hard, shut players down, make runs to whip in crosses. But he’s not going past anyone one on one, his touch in close quarters is average, and ultimately when we’re chasing a game he’s not a match winner in any way.

All that said, shifting Baldock to RCB and Osborn to RWB made sense after that god awful debut from Ciaran Clark at RCB. Going four at the back and having Osborn instead of Fleck in midfield probably made more sense though.

Yeah some of the excuses for the rest are sometimes a bit fudged but at least they’ve done something for the club in the past, won a game, had a MOTM performance, won promotion etc. - exactly what Ben Osborn has achieved in 3 years at this club is beyond me. He’s not particularly good at anything. If he wasn’t left footed he’d be in League 2 at best.
