Whats all that about ? i like to go to u23 matches , but most are to be played at York , which is Rubbish from the club , Chesterfield was fine ,

Chesterfield seem to have fallen out with us again, little man syndrome probably. York is a bit of a trek though, Donny at a stretch maybe.

York is further away but nice.

Chesterfield is nearby but a godforsaken shitheap, exclusively populated by bellends.

Pick yer poison I suppose.

Very strange! Surprising there is nowhere closer

Thanks, as a resident of Chesterfield I'm sure whichever area of Sheffield you reside in is the epitome of modern, cosmopolitan living.

I love some bantz, I also love postcode snobbery from Sheffield residents, it's like saying "my pile of shit is better than your pile of shit because it's a city sized pile of shit"

Hey I've had plenty of it from across the border in my time too.

By people who are clearly unaware that Greggs in Firth Park sometimes has an outdoor seated area. If that's not cosmopolitan, I don't know what is.

I'll be honest and say that my knowledge of Sheffield is the way to and from Bramall Lane and Meadowhall as well as living at Banner Cross for a few years.

I know that there are some shitholes in the North of the city but I will never have need to visit them. My son also plays football against Sheffield teams and they don't tend to be in the nicest of areas.

I know, I'm from the north, it's like fucking Beirut.

But Beirut is city-sized 😉

We played our home U23 Professional Development League Play Off Semi Final at York City in May. (Got beat 1-0). I'm sure it's not as simple as this, but - it's effectively a Council owned pitch that they hire out. So, I suspect it's a combination of cost & convenience that attracts Utd. The Carrier Bag Firm had settled in at The Glass Works in Chesterfield. A Brampton Brewery house bang opposite the turnstiles. Great place.

But, of course, York is a great place for a drink. We'll just adapt our logistics & get on with it. We were tipped off some while ago that it was likely. So, we've got used to the idea. Afternoon & 5pm kick offs will suit us.

And, I must get used to calling them U21 matches now...
Binnion tore me off a strip when the switch was from U21 to U23 & I suggested that maybe Utd had been caught out by that.
He pointed out that we were top of the league, U21 or U23...
