So the squad places back up what Hecky said about who's at the front of the que from the youngsters. Amissah, Gordon, Osula, Jebbo, and Arblaster. Good to encourage the rest of the youngsters that there is a clear pathway to the 1st team opening up if they are good enough. Of course they have to be good enough to deserve that place, but I don't think Hecky is the sort to just put some young uns in the squad if they arent good enough. It's very encouraging and it's going to be great to hopefully see more coning through and getting in the squad. Seems we have some more slightly younger players who should get there in a year or two. A big well done to the management now, the board for not selling Jebbo previously when they had chance to make a quick buck, and also to the much maligned McCabe for starting the Academy a long time ago when some initially opposed it. Very exciting.

Ideally, just so I can sleep better at night:

• Wes would be 1, if he wanted it. The second choice keeper would be 13. Wes shouldn't be 18.
• Enda would be moving towards a broader squad number to reflect his reduced importance to us. Lowe and RND for that spot, for me.
• Brewster should be 9 and we would be moving McBurnie on.
• Lowe shouldn't be anywhere near 13.
• Coulibaly wore 24 last season and liked it, and 22 most of this preseason. But now has 17. Eh?
• Surprised to not see N'Diaye move up the squad numbers.

See, told you I could get flounceyyy.

Lopata is an odd one. There's a player there, or at the very least a saleable asset.
