The occasional Hollywood ball sticks in some peoples memory.

There are some - I remember him hitting a fucking worldie into the path of an advancing Baldock in the JS/BL corner a few seasons ago - which were breathtaking football. But that's just it. Space in front and an attacking advantage. This worked ace in the past also when Norwood got the ball because by the time he was ratcheting his foot backrads to hit Enda on the flank, Fleck and O'Connell were already moving forward to create the overload and the options. It worked and it worked well. Now people are applauding the pass, and its into nowhere. No supporting players, no route forward. But don't let that stop you applauding the pass. I mean, that's what wins matches. Occasionally Norwood will forget himself and look forward and pass forward to a player in space (Sharp v Plymouth in the cup) and it results in a goal. I'm just flummoxed at this blind devotion to mediocre play. If he had five goals and fifteen assists last season I'd be inclined to agree with people but he hasn't got that in him.

And then there's the pointing ...

If, god forbid, McBurnie does 'return' he will make absolutely zero difference to this team.
In fact I'd go as far to say he'll be detrimental to the team!
I really don't see how people cannot see his total lack of movement destroys the team. How the only movement he makes is deep ie kin useless as it makes it so easy for him to pointlessly touch the ball.
I would never criticize ANY midfielder when playing with shit like him.
I saw the great Tony Currie play and star at home against Liverpool in the season we went down. He'd get the ball, make space, look up who was making a run and see no one. Not even the great Alan Woodward that day. He was star man - 8 in the people, played them on his own, but no defence splitting passes. No one made the run.
The start of a BBC highlights of one game - think WHU at home when Fleck returned from injury, showed the lazy scum bag for what we was. FIVE times in less than 30 seconds he stood or jogged in the opening clip when players were waiting for him to make a run to receive the ball. He could not even move above a jog when George Baldock was in on goal. That is why he never scores, apart from being shite. He's too kin lazy to run! If I haven't lost it one of these days I will get round to posting this clip. I've just lost 20GB of united clips in moving it to record a match at the end of last season. But that clip, and another at the end of WBA away when he is supposed to be playing in midfield and just stops because he is so unfit as to be unable to to even jog are iconic clips that can surely never have been seen outside a pissed up Sunday morning team.
GET HIM OUT ASAP. Or as Trump would say 'LOCK HIM UP, LOCK HIM UP'
'Will no one rid me of this ...'

Disagree with the OP. The prospect of us mounting our promotion challenge with the plethora of talent at our disposal should be making the Blades fanbase “long and hard”.

Is there another championship club that could put two 11’s out as strong as the two we did last weekend?

Plus Kehdra and AN Other ?

There’s a right set our dour fkers on here!

Yet again nobody is allowed to say owt on here unless it's a praise. We were strong on paper last season but crap till MGW came and to replace him we will need to find one he'll of a player. As for putting out a strong 11 against barnsley we'll we got beat and didn't create enough so stick that in your pipe happy clapper. 😀

As I said dour!

I am also worried we just wont create chances, but not because of speed and trickery. With Ndiaye, Berge, Khadra (fingers crossed), Brewster and Bogle when he is fit. . We have a lot of players who can run at the opposition and beat a man, with pace and trickery. We might well be the best ball carriers in the division. What I feel we lack and lacked for the last two seasons, are players who slip in a through ball at the end of those runs and in particular..and cross the ball....

I disagree. He's had a pretty remarkable rise with the club but since lockdown has been properly found out and exposed for all his shortcomings and proof if anything as to why Brighton and Fulham didn't take him up into the PL.

The problem with Norwood is that he has many fooled. If we ever sign a decent, grafting, hard tackling and visionary defensive midfield pivot, most will realise we have simply been tolerating all of his shitness and ineptitude. He doesn't 'make us tick' and the team isn't 'better with him in it'. He continues to be a liability and limited in going forward. He isn't as good at crossing as many say and his shooting is appalling. He just doesn't have anything great to offer us moving forward. Very much a 'Wilder' player and he needs to be moved on

He absolutely does make us tick.Shooting I will give you , he should score more goals.Everton signed loads of 6ft5 powerhouse midfielders and look how far that’s got them.Norwood is a great technical player at championship level. The difference to our game when he is missing is night and day.

Completely agree. If we are talking about replacing with 'decent Championship players', I would rather have one Berge who has potential to get us out of this league than 3-4 guys to keep us in it.
Exactly , players like berge are the difference to what a lot of clubs at this level don’t have.

We are heavily reliant on Berge and Ndiaye and possibly Brewster. The latter two are still young kids so it's hard to put too much pressure on them to consistently deliver. The former might not be here; if he is we have to hope his hammy doesn't go pop. It's hard to expect too much from Bill due to age and his recent injury record although he always proves this logic wrong . The rest of the forwards are even younger and more inexperienced than Ndiaye. We can't bank on them. Hopefully Brewster can come good.
From what I can see we are going to really miss Bogle at RWB; none of the LWB look very imposing from an attacking point of view.

The interesting one for me is Coulibaly: he seems to have a trick and the ability to transition with the ball at pace (something we are desperately lacking). He's a wild card that will hopefully come good.
As for the manager: I won't look too deeply into pre season, but the games have been very safe. The word insipid springs to mind. The pressure was largely off last season so he could have a free go at it. I hope he's not a Blackwell 2.0 now the pressure is on (i.e. ultra safe). Well soon know!
Its OK you are wrong

Fleck I will give you.Was Norwood any worse than anyone else apart from ndiyae, egan and Wes ?
No he wasn't any worse, he played his usual game which is he always gives the effort but can't head, won't shoot, no precision passing and can't run past anyone with the ball. Times up I'm afraid we need a big strong lad someone who can do all of the above.

Mate, we've been without real creativity (not counting MGW) since coming back from lockdown. Hence our stop-start approach. You're right, Fleck is now a burned out player and nowhere near what he was, Norwood is only a hero to those who ejaculate every time he whumps it over to a closed down wingback and Berge is very much not the style guru we thought he was. The midfield is the beating heart of any team and the catalyst of chances and goals. Until we cure ourselves or WILDER-19, we'll still look one dimensional, predictable and flaccid.

McGoldrick offered flair.
I agree with the point you are making though.
