Thoughts on the kit?

There shouldn't be a requirement for them. If our away kit is white with a red sash when our home kit is red and white, it's clearly done just so they can release a third.
But why is there existence so controversial? If the team needs one, so what? No one's making people buy them and when you think about it, a 3rd kit is actually quite an elegant solution to what must be a bit of a nightmare - so many teams, all releasing new kits, every year, promotions, relegations, FA Cup ties, Must be tough to ensure no kits clash, with so many variables at play.

FWIW, I actually think that the 3rd kits have been some of the most interesting through the years. A chance to really come up with something unusual

So what's 'bespoke' about it then? You were the one telling me it was late into being because it was bespoke. So come on GokWan, talk us through why this design is bespoke....
I think you are conflating the words bespoke with unique.

Bespoke - design specifically for us, to our requirements

Unique - unlike other kits.

Hope that helps.

Probably because it's not that long since it was standard for clubs to keep kits for 2 years and bring out a new home/away kit alternate years. Whereas now if you want to buy every kit (or your child wants every kit) then you're buying a home, away & 3rd kit every year, (Unless you want the GK kits too, then you're looking at another 2/3 kits a year)
I get this, to a point, but you know, don't buy them all every year 🤷‍♂️

It makes sense to me, fans are offered 4 or 5 choices for a kit each year, which is good I think. The club gives you many options for something you like. If you have enough money and really want them all, buy them all. If you can't afford them all then just buy the one you like the best. No child will be ringing childline because they were only bought 1 replica shirt per season.

It really isnt. A yellow away kit immediately guarantees no kit clashes. Likewise pretty much any shade of blue. And if the home kit has an abundance of red/black, so does all white.

I dunno. Unless there's some central organisation that overseas kits from every club in the FL and has the power to veto certain strips, how can a club know what everyone else is going to do? What about cup ties when teams play other teams from outside their league etc.? Like I said, I don't see a down side to a 3rd kits - more choice and an opportunity to release things away from the norm.

Unless I'm mistaken, a couple of years ago, the club had a 3rd that wasn't even available for sale to the public so the money grabbing angle isn't 100% true either.

i like the leaked ones, if they existed just like that. shame they're gonna be ruined with a god awful sponsor on the front, and presumably the back

It’s bespoke cos they’ve designed & manufactured it with a unique misaligned stripe under the left arm pit while the right side lines up perfectly. Bet nobody else has owt like that.

I rarely buy them at all these days unless it's one I really like, but I know some people enjoy buying them to add to collections or kids wanting them all because their friends have them all etc. But people obviously still buy them in a decent enough quantity or they wouldn't bother making new ones every year

Probably the worst kit we have released in my lifetime.

Basic, no flair, no prestige and screams template. It’s offensively bad and cheap in my opinion. There is so much opportunity to do something exciting or that has prestige even within the constraints of red and white stripes and this ticks neither boxes. I cant work out why it took so long to generate such a shockingly bland kit.

I've spent a bit of time reading this thread, and liking a range of posts from all sides of the discussion.

There's no secret that I'm a right picky sod when it comes to kits and how I whinge on about stripes on the back and sleeves, collars, socks the lot.

For me, this isn't a bad start from Errea, if it's the one. I agree with loads of what people have said, it ticks boxes: good number of stripes, good shade of red, stripes on sleeves and back.

It's a bit safe, agreed and it's definitely not bespoke. It's basic, simple, inoffensive. I've wanted us to do a basic design for years though mind, almost like the classic offering Burnley had, when they first went back to the PL.

The criticisms remain though: it's simple, it isn't anything special, and so there's minimal excuses for the delay. The main issues remain for me, what's the finish/quality like and secondly, something about Errea just looks tinpot/a bit cheap/a bit League Two. It suits a Lincoln (no offence), it doesn't look upmarket enough for a side chasing Premier League status.

Please flair up red and white stripes

Honestly what are people moaning about with that home shirt?

Red and white stripes ✅
Black pinstripes ✅
Simple collar with no unnecessary faff ✅
Stripes on the shoulders and back(?) ✅

Pisses all over the last 2 after thought kits produced by Adidas

Baffled by it man, the home shirt is almost perfect, there’s nothing wrong with it, though if it were up to me it’d have a proper collar and cuffed sleeves

100% will get that though, looks lovely

Lots to agree with there. It's a decent first attempt (if it is indeed the final prototype), Adidas took three years to put a kit together that was almost universally liked.

How the sponsor is applied could make or break it though. Fingers crossed we don’t have any shitty back sponsor...
