What absolute rubbish. Even the worst Adidas kit (our relegation one) is better than that. Apparently that's bespoke.

That shirt has taken 10 months to get to this point.

mattbianco1 has done better designs while making a cuppa.

Contradiction there as its very similar to the designs mattbianco did. Collar just plain instead of a white pinstripe. So fuckin what, it's still miles better than the kits adidas gave us. At least design wise. As for quality of material thats different.

Genuine question - why are 3rd kits so devisive?

There shouldn't be a requirement for them. If our away kit is white with a red sash when our home kit is red and white, it's clearly done just so they can release a third.

Probably because it's not that long since it was standard for clubs to keep kits for 2 years and bring out a new home/away kit alternate years. Whereas now if you want to buy every kit (or your child wants every kit) then you're buying a home, away & 3rd kit every year, (Unless you want the GK kits too, then you're looking at another 2/3 kits a year)

Maybe not, but I am committing to a minimum 12 months. Yknow at first it will be nice "new shirt, going to wear it all the time" but the more and more I wear it the more used to it I'll get, inevitably I'll start looking at other shirts, perhaps I'll look for a nice foreign one, yknow something from France or Italy they've got some pretty exciting shirts but eventually I'll look back at the old faithful "yknow, it's not such a bad shirt after all, I can see me and this shirt having a future together" then BOOM a new one comes along and all of a sudden the shirt I love gets stained and loses its shape, the club shop won't have any left and if they do it will only be the smaller sizes that I've got no chance of getting in to so I have to get a new one and around we go.

Surprised some dislike the home shirt, they’ve played it safe design wise but I think that’s a good thing, it ticks every box, a true blades shirt. Thankfully none of that solid white back shite we were subjected to a couple of times. The socks will have a blades design on it too I assume going off the pre-season kit. Not earth-shattering stuff but a really simple and subtle element that will improve the kit as a whole and something Adidas don’t do at all.

They feel like a 6 or 7 out of 10. Maybe more or less depending on the quality of the shirt. The retro/classic look is a safe way to start what is intended to be a long-term relationship.

If the shirts feel high quality and we have a good season, they could become classics - a reference point for what a blades shirt should look like for young blades as they grow up, in the same way 96/97 is for those of us over 35. That shirt was also pretty safe, and many of us now look back on it fondly.

I'm sure Errea will tinker with the home shirt in the future to the horror of traditionalists and the delight of the bespokists. If you were looking for something more avant garde, patience, I'm sure you're time will come.

I was very skeptical about Errea, but this is a decent start.

It's bespoke because it isn't a template, it's designed with the club and they have chosen the design which won't be used for any other club.

What exactly do you have in mind when you talk about bespoke?
