Those aren't facts. That's your opinion, which is totally bollocks.

These are facts...

First 23 League games:
W8 L9 D5 = 29 points

Last 23 League games:
W13 L4 D7 = 46 points

Record under Slav:
W6 L8 D5 = 23 points

Record under Hecky:
W15 L5 D7 = 52 points

Last 3 months where we were "awful":
W9 L4 D6 = 33 points

The record was good I am talking about performances

You can only get results for so long without playing well IMO

Wasn't impressed when he was appointed but he achieved more than I expected. Pre season games allow us to build match fitness, give fringe players game time and mix it up a bit on the pitch so I'm not bothered about the last couple of results.

If the season progresses and we look bang average then I might be concerned.

However you dress it up it’s a result’s business. Always has been, always will be.

In the 28 games with PH in charge we were the 2nd best team in the league. I wasn’t enamoured by his appointment, but he exceeded all expectations and did superbly last year. This is inspite of a inexplicably bad injury record.

Literally no team plays well every week, and it’s often said the sign of a good team is to pick up point when you aren’t playing well.

Who knows how we’ll do this season, but calling for a managers head after a Pre-Season friendly is just nonsense.

If pre-season friendly results are so important to you, why are you giving Dyche a free pass for leading a full-strength Premier League Burnley side to scraped 2-1 wins over Morecambe and Tranmere last summer? A Tranmere side who had defeated Warrington Town of the NPL only 1-0 the previous week?

Using the kind of logic you apply on a regular basis, why do you so badly want a manager who is only 2 goals better than a 7th division team?

If they're not relevant then how about Burnley's defeats at Accrington Stanley and Chesterfield in the pre-season before their last promotion to the PL?

I watched all those games and Burnley played well

Totally agree.

I'm just hoping history doesn't repeat itself.

Remember when we were previously relegated from the PL?
Then they went to appoint a massive name like Brian Robson, his record was pretty good but there were concerns
so United also appointed the highly rated coach Brian Kidd as his number 2.
It was considered the dream team. Robbo would be the figurehead attracting big named loans to the club
Where as Kidd would have more involvement in tactics. I remember Kidd was manager at Blackburn and did well.

On paper it looked ambitious. Big name to raise the profile of the club.
We played arguably better, more technical possession based football but it was a culture shock to our fans after Warncock.
We were overpassing and our attacks were slow so there was very little action at either end, games were really dull.
Results were disappointing and he was quickly sacked.

We brought in Kevin Blackwell, who was an underwhelming cheap option to steady the ship.
Blackwell went back to play Warnock up tempo style and in his first season the results improved so much we reached the play-offs.
Maybe the novelty had worn off, but in Blackwells 2nd season we lost 3-0 to QPR and he was quickly sacked.

We've copied the same style, shown great ambition by appointing the "best" manager, Jukanovic, with a good media profile.
However like Robbo he never gelled with the fans with his boring monotone interviews.
The football was technically better but it was slow and passing just for the sake of passing.

We then bring in cheap option Hegginbottom like we did Blackwell.
Blackwell reverts back to a Warnock type style. Hegginbottom reverts back to a Wilder type style.
Both were underwhelming appointments but both did so well in their 1st season both managers reached the play-offs.

It does make you wonder whether Heggie will follow the same fate of Blackie.
If Heggie starts the season badly he might be sacked inside a few games.

and which is more, you'll be a man my son

No guarantees of course, but I hope that Hecky retains his position as manager regardless of a loss or two when the season begins. Of course no one wants to see us lose, but calm heads are required if we're to move forward. Stability is key if we want to progress, and the idea that a new manager is the answer is risible at best. The clamour for a new head seems to come from those who struggle to see beyond the tip of their noses.

Please, calm, clinical decision making will make far more sense than the erratic screaming that comes from those who consider that change for change's sake is essential. If this is all that's left to us then we might as well give each manager a three month reign to prove their worth......so let's show a little maturity, let's work with what we have, and only then will we know if our chosen strategy is the right one for the Blades.

He has proved his self

However i am of the opinion that he has peaked

I will happily and hopefully be proved wrong
😂 last time you saw some one peak you was transfixed on your own eyes in the mirror.

Please let us at least have pre season before the joyous fallowfield threads. We all need time to rest and recuperate before the next noncicle round of fallowfields team to get me some screen time threads

Swear Chelsea won 2 league titles under Mourinho playing poorly? A. Madrid won the league again playing poorly.

Is Heckingbottom everyone’s first choice if they could choose the current manager? Probably not. But you can’t even consider a new manager right now following the job he did last season.

Who's this Hegginbottom FFS??

I think Dyche could be just the right manager to get the best out of McBurnie ...,...................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Act before the rot really sets in princey boy go get dychey

3-0 against a league two team not good enough for me

Some top class managers available we need to act NOW

Not wanting to burst your bubble FB but Utd wouldn't be able to afford Dyche even if they were looking for a manager (which of course they're no) and were considering Dyche.

He was on some big big money at Burnley (easily the best paid employee at the club) and his demands would dwarf Jokanovic's

Maybe sooo i think if not many prem teams turn to him we will see him at a big championship club similar to Lord Wilder

I would take Corberan 100% also another top class manager

Great post

I hope Hecky does continue the wonderful run he has overseen at the club - terrific stuff and some lovely football at times.

However, it is a results based business and if we get off to a slow start and the fans become restless then we know what may happen. However , the Prince may stick with Hecky as the cost of upheaval will be , relatively speaking , high - and he can do without that . Also the next appointment IMO wouldn't be a higher profile name as they would want financial backing which won't happen to their expected levels so we would probably go down the up and coming manager talent or a has been who will take anything.

So - come on Hecky , push Bettis to get the last couple / three signings we clearly need over the line because without them i feel this squad isn't good enough for top 6 .
