Zak Brunt and Kacper Lopata

Doesn’t want to sign then let him go. Can’t be held ransom over a player yet to prove anything other than being a decent non league player.
 
Not sure why he's being so reluctant to sign, I can't see an easy out for him elsewhere if he's at odds with your Club.

Tend to agree. Not as if whatever decent job he did in the conference is going to start attracting anyone to offer him serious money.

If he'd torn up league one, maybe, but he'll be seen as a development project for anyone big enough to improve his lot.

Hopefully it gets ironed out now everyone is back.
 
From the look of this Mr Neal is off for further FL education. This time with Barrow we hear (not necessarily true but we've heard it from several sources). If true, then good luck to him. Playing front of 1500 rather than 7000 will be an experience for him.

How do they compare in the league mate? Are they pushing for promotion or just treading water? Logically think if they're aiming for promotion it makes sense.. if not then seems pointless.

Would make sense we’ve sent youngsters there before Smith went there
 

If it happens he should think himself very lucky that Tango man Brown was dispatched by mutual consent from Barrow at the end of last season.
 
No Brunt today either?

There was that rumour a couple of weeks ago about a Bradford move but odd Neal's absence would be mentioned and not his.

Be careful pal, you're starting to sound like those folk from South Barnsley who believe it's all about attendances.
He'll be playing against (marginally) better teams than he would if he went back to Southend this season, that's the reason.

Absolutely correct, but you're missing the point that I'm bitter and twisted that he got away from another glorious season with us. ;) Oh well, I'll get over it in time.

I will be more than happy when the Lopata contract issues are solved as it will finally put to bed the fantasies some of our supporters are having regarding a return to Roots Hall. Some are even saying we should buy the bloke, and where would we get the fee and wages necessary to fund that? Maybe it's the current hot weather affecting the brain cells of our younger Shrimpers. He will not return to us.

One of our star youngsters played hardball last summer Rootshallbloke , before eventually signing a new contract and thriving. Reckon a similar standoff is happening with Lopata at the moment, but frustrating for everybody, as he'd definitely have had minutes in both of our pre season friendlies so far.

I'm hopeful we can still reach an agreement with him, but it all looks a bit silly as things stand.

Brunt linked with a move to Bradford PA and Lopata reportedly refusing to sign a new contract, with the club reportedly refusing to send him on loan or play him until he does.

N'Diaye 2.0 basically.

Could seriously harm his career to sit in the U23s for another season at this stage so I expect he'll sign.

For Brunt however, and his dad, time is probably up.
 
Just in case we do take any more orphans from you guys, I just want you to know that they would come to a Club which has a Chairman who is not a crook and more



And in terms of amenities I can confirm that there will be new training pitches for your lads to train on.

A bit of a contrived way to share the good news but you will be pleased to know that we haven't been paying our Club staff (not the players) all their wages since May 22 which prompted the NL to stick us with an embargo, some things never change at our club. Any news on Lopata? is he still being tricksy?
