Shirts: Pinstripe or Not?

Just give us the TC era shirt we city of Sheffield crest on

Which had no black pinstripes of course

Fence sitting but both are fine to just give us some variation to the yearly kit cycle.
Though it seems so long ago since we had a bog standard red and white striped shirt with matching sleeves and back.

All my favourite home shirts have a decent amount of black on them. Pinstripe for me.

Except the ‘Wards’ shirts Wards and everyone before the 1970s

I think it depends on the other details on the kit. If it’s really plain without any texture (like the red pinstripes you had in the red bands on one of the kits mocked up) then i dont think it’s needed but without them it’s a nice, welcome touch.

The 92/93 is probably my personal favourite, the lace up collar was top notch too

Seems to be a big debate on the Errea thread. So, do you prefer a black pinstripe/separator, or straight red/white stripes?

My 2 favourite shirts don't have a black separator, so i've vote no. pinstripe.

A thin black border line between the red n white makes the stripes pop and marks us out from the S’ton, Stoke, Sunderland etc

Think Soton had it briefly a good few years ago, but we have brought it back on numerous occasions. Also we’ve used black on our shirts a lot more than all the others stripey clubs.

Think Soton had it briefly a good few years ago, but we have brought it back on numerous occasions. Also we’ve used black on our shirts a lot more than all the others stripey clubs.

Southampton had the pinstripes for most of 80s and early 90s.

2 of their last 3 Striped shirts have had the pinstripes too.

Stoke had them a couple of times over the years but it's very rare. Stokes biggest differentiator is wearing White Shorts. Don't think they've ever had black.

Sunderland have never had the pinstripes AFAIK

I don’t like it as much - couple of hairy blokes flashing a tit each (I know it’s Vulcan and Thor) and some wheat.

Would much rather have the design classic that is our current badge - represents our nickname, swords are cool and it’s a nice nod to the cutlery/steel heritage of the city, white rose of Yorkshire, represents our club colours and it was inspired by an original design of Jimmy Hagan.

We only had the council crest for 11 years anyway

My favourite shirt ever, also of mattbianco1, is the 1974-75 one. And it could only be improved by adding that wondrous creation by Jimmy Hagan.

We've had 2 promotions in white socks and multiple relegation in them.

I'll be surprised if its without. Since the prince's ownership a lot of black has gone into the ground, The south stand has been painted black on the outside and near the exec boxes etc on John Street. Add to that the black edging of the "sufc" seats on the kop. If its right that Errea have input from the club regarding design then I can certainly see black on the shirts.
