Thank you Sander

I've supported the blades since 1964, and all I have ever seen, we always sell our best players and it does result in relegation eventually, we don't reinvest the money on quality players only 2nd rate. I've noticed a story today that the money will be reinvested with the sale of players, it won't be reinvested in players.

Yes, we get a few promotions, cup runs, but we have not won a major trophy since 1925

This city of ours should have two clubs in the top leagues, winning trophies, the support is fantastic for the way the directors treat the fans.

Listen to Dave Bassett, it tells you all need need to know about the blades, no ambition, selling players behind the managers back.

One minute they say they don't have to sell players, then the next minute, they will reinvest player sales into new players. There a joke club, taking the fans for a ride.

They should be keeping the best players that are under contract, after all we have a better chance of promotion with our quality players. It's madness selling Berge as was selling, Mick Jones, Alan Birchenall, Tony Currie, Geoff Salmons, Brian Deane, and many more I could name. You build teams around quality players, not 2nd rate players
Would be nice to have at least us in the Prem. Times have changed however, the south east of England and London seems to have a massively disproportionately high amount of wealth, or so it seems. That being so traditionally smaller clubs based in the south are doing better than northern clubs, outside Manchester and Merseyside, eg , Brighton, Watford, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham. Just the way it is. Having both Sheffield clubs in the top division is no longer a realistic possibility.

After thinking about this, I think we should sell sander. Initially I was against the idea but if we’re honest he doesn’t bring enough consistency to be rejecting such bids. We all know how good he is but it seems like he picks and chooses when to turn up which can be frustrating I.e. forest game. The midfield needs an overhaul anyway and we could get some quality if £5m (at least) is given to hecky to spend. Lots of good frees and players from the division below

All very well agreeing he can move on.

But who is the buyer looking to she'll out 25m?

Anyone got Arteta's number?

It's crackers to suggest that Berge will go for anything more than we bought him for, what has he done to warrant £10m on to his asking price?

Add to that the air of desperation when the club is releasing statements that we'd accept £10m under the release clause, when he doesn't appear to even have any serious suitors, plus we are a Championship side asking for the money, not PL.... it's not a great look. I think the most we can hope for is a couple of top half prem teams lowballing us and we eventually accept £15-£18m with clauses/add ons

The danger for me is that he knows what Ramsdale did to force a move (i.e. down tools) and can do the same to force one for himself

It would not surprise me to see him move to Newcastle.
obvious links with the owners who may even be persuaded that due to political reasons they owe us one.

See the Norwegian manager been mouthing off again. Looks like he is doing the touting around for his agent

I think it depends on what is offered. Ramsdale did it without it affecting his reputation because it was a pretty good offer. The club was just negotiating hard and the money was needed. I think if we were offered around £20m and turned it down, Berge may do the same but if we were only offered £10m, he’s risking looking like a bit of a mardarse and it’s possible that the club could call his bluff and tell him he either plays or he doesn’t but he’s going nowhere for that fee. If the Norway manager doesn’t like him being a championship player, he’ll like it even less if he’s at a championship club but not even playing.

I reckon we might take £15m with structured add-ons where we could end up closer to £25m if he’s successful. I think there’d be clubs interested in that kind of deal; he didn’t look out of his depth in the PL and has since shown he can adapt to the English game in his performances towards the end of this season. But who knows? I certainly don’t. I do know that if he goes, some will say we should have kept him, others will say the fee was too low and some will say we’ve had the buying team’s pants down.

Perhaps looking only at historical changes is unfair on the present owner. If he sells and doesn’t reinvest in good players then the pattern continues, but at present we do not know.
When we sold Brooks the money was reinvested into a squad that went to 9th in the Premiership from League 1.It doesn’t always mean relegation !

Has the club released a statement saying that ? I have not seen it.

Must admit I really do hate it when International Manager meddle in club affairs.

We've paid Sander a good wage week in, week out, especially through periods he had injuries.

Now he's regained his fitness, his International coach, who sees him once every three months and has contributed the square root of fuck all to him financially, is actively encouraging him to bin us off.

An Indian curry, cloth ears, are you trying to be pedantic, cause it's Anthony CURRIE
To be pedantic that is not what you were quoted as saying cloth ears!
seems you have a habit of rubbing people up the wrong way and you have only just started, subsequently blocked. Bye

Yep let's get some more Montgomery's, Gannons and Bookers in that's the type of player we have a United.
Let's say we do sell him do you honestly believe we'll get any of that money to spend on players, It's Kids and Freebies all the way, although the hotel might get refitted.

We'll end up with a midfield like England's - that doesn't have a clue how to create a goal

Berge is not the kind of player to down tools. He is easily worth what we paid for him. Norway manager is a clown he is clueless he is still playing Berge as a deep holding mid which tells you exactly how much he knows about football

Berge started in LCM vs Serbia and DCM vs Sweden in a 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation. Solbakken has acknowledged he can play in several positions, and he played three different roles in the last match. At the moment Norway don't play with a number ten, and Ødegaard is occupying the RCM that Berge would probably prefer.

Against Serbia I thought Berge fell into the trap of playing second fiddle to the dictating and even more creative Ødegaard. He did a lot of defensive work, but not a lot going forward. While accepting Ødegaard's the main playmaker Berge needs to show what he can do to supplement that. He was fine in the holding role vs Sweden. A more competitive player was picked in LCM. It worked. We very rarely beat Sweden.

I think Solbakken is a good manager and probably the right man to try and take Norway to a tournament (it's been 22 years since the last one). He generally wants his players to play at the highest level. I don't think Blades fans, or Championship fans, should feel insulted by those comments.

Maybe Sander is strong enough to make up his own mind.
Is he more likely to play for Norway when he is playing every week in the Championship or on the bench in the Premiership ?
He strikes me as being intelligent enough to weigh it all up and make a decision that he feels is best for him and his life.

With all due respect who does he think he is. Norway players are above playing in the championship? Were Fjortoft, Flo, Nillsen above playing in the championship? Was he above being a shit manager in the championship?

However I agree Berge is too good to be playing in the championship but his comments are simply disrespectful and uncalled for.

Both you and Solbakken have just stated you think Berge is too good to be playing in the Championship, why are his comments disrespectful?

Norway aren't much kop. Without Harland, I'd back us to more than give them a game. Perhaps even with Harland. And they can have Berge in their team for the match. They haven't qualified for the Euros since 2000 or World Cup since 1998. Fuck me, doesn't anyone remember how crap Jostein Flo was?
So even playing for Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern won't get Berge's international career much further.....

Because he could simply state he would prefer Berge to be playing at a higher level. Why say he doesn't want to be getting any more calls from Sheffield United? It's fuck all to do with him
