Just goes to show what a thankless task it is producing the shirt. You'll never please everyone!

It’s definitely a thankless task, but there are probably some basic criteria we could give to designers to try and maximise the chances it’ll go down well with the vast majority. Ideally “stripes both sides” will become as natural for the club to stress as “Sheffield United, not ‘Sheffield’” is for our media team briefing new players before their first interviews.

Blades away - purple with a white sash
Blades third - blue with red trim

Beershot home - purple with a white sash
Beerschot away - blue with red trim

Chateauroux home - blue with red trim
Chateauroux away - r/w stripes, black trim
Chateauroux third - purple with a white sash

from business pov that would make good sense all your changing is the badge/sponsor in theory
and id love a purple sash away kit

I haven't seen the final away shirts but the designs I saw a while back had a sash on the away kit and a black/gold 3rd kit (I liked the French UW kit a lot, as an aside).

What are you saying here Hal? Is the black and gold 3rd kit a funky mix of the 2 colours like the French kit? Surely that would only work if it was the same colour in different shades? What was the pattern? The badge? The ground? Or just something trendy?

And… did you like the kits you saw? Stripes on the back sounds good to me

Black side panels aren't bad. We had that on the capital one home top. Cracking top that was as well. So it can work.

Are they sponsoring us next season? I don't think they're the worst sponsor in the world, better than yet another gambling company and logo doesn't clash too much with our colours. Does remind me of getting bloody ripped off whenever I travelled abroad with the COVID tests though!
